Guest guest
hi i red some books and studies which r prooving that menstruation is an " unhealthy and un-natural habbit " and it is not absolutely necessary to have this blood waste, the r women who never had it and still they have babies and much more energy and acievements in their lifes. i met a woman practising yoga, especially methods for transmutating and sublimating the sexual potential, and eating strictly vegetarian food. she totally suspended her menstruatin, didn't have any lost in about 10 years (she is too young to be at menopause). the blood-tests shows her feminine-hormones in perfect balance. but this was not enough for her, she went farther, creating such a balance in her body that she is not even loosing ovules every months so her ovaries will remain young for ever (we all know women r born with a number of ovules and they will not produce more during lifetime, just eliminate some of them every month). what does ayurveda says about this subject? Guest guest
to know how thin this woman is. I had done the same myself, but I was very thin at the time and did not menstruate for a few years and had children at that time too. But the lack of body fat did make me feel nervous and cold all the time. I have read in some ancient books that menstruation was not always the case for women and they could become pregnant. I have found that when I keep my body very clean with diet and pranayama the blood only comes for three days without smell, pain , acne or any sign that the blood is there. If diet is poor the blood is full of toxins and odor and takes seven days to stop. I agree that if not completely eliminated it could be reduced to a great deal and be easier to undergo. criiii dum <dumicita wrote: hi i red some books and studies which r prooving that menstruation is an " unhealthy and un-natural habbit " and it is not absolutely necessary to have this blood waste, the r women who never had it and still they have babies and much more energy and acievements in their lifes. Guest guest
is she obese? This can also affect the menstruation. It is highly possible that hshe has a hormonal problem and is not aware of it. Leaving food to lose weight is not a good idea. It slow the metabolism andmakes losing weight that much more difficult. I am interested to know what asanas she is using to stop her menstruation. Do you have that information? ____________- she is not thin, she is getting fat very easy. once she was not eating anything but water for 10 days and she gained 1 kilogram. she is all the time on diet and exercices for keeping a healthy weight, but still she is little fat. Guest guest
no, she is not obese she keeps herself at about 80kg and she is about 173 cm tall, but she is kapha tipe , with large shoulders and hips, big breast, big bones. and the lack of menstruation is not somthing that came suddenly with some diet, it came in time by reducing the amount of blood lost and duration, month by month. she is dentist, she has some connection with mediocine, she was testing her hormones and they r just fine and i just found out about some other wemen who suspended their menstruation. one is about 25 , practising tantra yoga. she suspended it for 1 year and half, than experienced some bad jalousy on her bf and had perioud again, untill she reballanced her emotions an suspended it again another is abot 35-40, ayurveda teacher, taking plants for draining limph, balancing her structure and for sublimation. since she succeded doing this she looks much younger i have some results but not this spectacular, because i was not really interested on this subject before. when i was younger i had 8 days long periouds and with masive bleeding. at bout 18 years old i was not eating sugar or anything containing sugar for a month and immediately my perioud become 5 days long and lot less bleeding and remained like this. at 21-22 i did some yoga practice, not for this purpose, but to be allowed in a group,100 nauly kriya and 80 uddhiyana bandha every day for more than a year and it become 3 days long, remaining like this till now (i'm 29 now). for a while i took cold-water-extract of plants to repair my kidneys, that was reducing the excess of kapha in my structure (that was not the purpose, just a " side-effect " ) and, since than, even if it is 3 days long, i'm losing very small amounts of blood, just anough to know that it is there. while i was taking that kidney-treatment the distance became bigger, like 45-60 days between 2 periouds. now i'm still on treatment for kidneys, but not that strong, and it is at 28 days again. i am almoust 3-dosha , just some extra pitta in my mental level and some little extra-kapha on body level, 165cm tall and 61-65kg, oscilating, 65 in winter and 61 in summer, without any special diet for losing or gaining weight. i'm lacto-vegetarian, i also eat eggs but only included in cakes (i don't like them). ___ is she obese? This can also affect the menstruation............
Guest guest
i forgot to answer the final question. i don't know her saddhana, i only know she is doing a lot of shirshasana, some oli mudras and uddhiyana bandha, but for sure she has some other practise too. her guru told her that she is the only person in that yoga school maintaining the consciousness level almoust all the time on anahata chakra level. _________ I am interested to know what asanas she is using to stop her menstruation. Guest guest
this is very interesting to me. I am the wife of a pundit and would love to suspend my menstruation i have four children and with the care of the temple and the children I find it inconvenient! I have reduced my menstruation from seven to three days, the blood is often clear - no mucus but sometimes heavy. Though I have no symptoms of pms like cramps - I used to have very bad ones. When I had suspended my menstruation for two or three years I had also stopped eating sugar. I was doing four hours a day yoga and then maybe the same amount of dance and I walked and road my bicycle everywhere. I was very thin at that time weighed 41kg and am 5'7 But then I regained my weight and again even at a healthy weight I did not have menstruation for one year during my yoga practice. After having my children I did not regain menstruation for almost a year. But after my fourth child it has come back and is very regular but shorter. I would love to suspend the menstruation - I have read that this is possible and now after hearing what you have said and then remembering my experience I feel interested to try with that goal in mind. So, is there any secret? Tantra yoga means - what is she doing? What " other " practice is your friend doing who is 25? Other thing is, we should be sure that there is not a disturbance in apana vayu causing the lack of release. I want to be totally in the best of health. I am also a kapha person. Maybe you could find out more about there sadhana and give some further detiails! Guest guest
hi again the 25 years old girl is not a close friend, i only met her few times. she is also practicing hatha yoga for sure, this is part of tantra yoga too, but i have no details. u know the secrets about initiationts and technics bla bla. her boyfriend is a friend of my ex-bf, that's how i met her when i was with that guy, so, sory, but no big chanse to find her easy and get more details. she said that there r few things involved: spiritual practise, a diet as sattva as possible, and inner balance. sugar, white bread, meat r to be avoided. she was stressing that control and harmony of emotions is a sign of evolution-level one can reach through spiritual practise. bad feeling and emotions r equal to apana vata exces and if mental energy is going downwards it will make the blood flow same direction. happiness, enthusiasm, optimism, love r related with uddhana vata. they did it harmoniusly, because if it was just blocking the flow without sublimating that would lead to liver congestion (the " residence " of blood) and those ladies r really healthy. i met other ladies with pathological amenorheea and there is totaly different situation. i noticed on myself that my menstruation is less when i have no sex. could be for 3 reasons. 1. without a man disturbing them, my emotions r more harmoniouse (here there is a big problems with man responsibility and behaviour durring couple relationship) 2. with no auric interaction i can make my energy go the good direction 3. maybe i'm not sublimating enough while making love, i'm interacting too much on swadhisthana level the theory says that while making love the man is giving the direction to energy both for him and her, unless she is much stronger and higher energy level than him. so if he is sublimating, her energy will be sublimated too, but if his energy is going more down than up, her energy will follow. if he is ejaculating, this will drive her energy downwards. i have a friend, a woman who made love in the first day of her period with a man who was sublimating well the energy, so her menstruation just stopped while they were making love and only came again next month. so that time she had a half-day period. conclusion: any method stimulating harmoniously uddhana vayu and maintaining the sattva state is good for transmutating and sublimating sexual fluids. shirshasana is the best for this. any attitude and diet harmonising your contitutional type (prakritti) and repairing the unbalances (vikriti) is helping to sublimate the sexual energy and the menstruation. for kapha persons there plants r recomanded for draining lymph, spicy and bitter for sublimating (but spicy should be avoided the week immediately before menstruation, they stimulate the flow), plants with laghu guna, dynamic exercices like surya namaskara, nauli kriya, oli mudras. in the week before menstruation astringent taste will help, like the plant named Arjuna (terminalia arjuna), because astringent is haemostatic. u could also notice that when u had a dynamic life (dancing and bike r stimulating manipura) u had no menstruation, having a healthy weight. i'm almost 3-dosha, but little more pitta, so, for me, cold plants like bitter ones r more recomanded while for kapha the " hot " ones r better. i had a kapha disbalance because my parents were feeding me with too kapha food, but now that excess is not big anymore. pitta gives me small problems now, so what works for me might not have same effects on u. hope u will tell me sood about new good results u obtained in this direction mandv m <mandakiniven Sunday, April 15, 2007 6:56:13 PM this is very interesting to me.
