Guest guest
Hi My 3 year old kid has eczema since he was 2 months old.Blood test was done when he was 18 months old and we found that he is severely allergic to potato, eggs.Moderately to milk ,almond, lentils, wheat, cashew. His affected areas are legs and hands mostly. He is also extremely itchy (itches till he bleeds) specially at night. We avoid all the foods he is allergic to ,except wheat ,which he eats very less. His food mainly consists of rice, vegetables, fish. He does not take any fruit also. I have avoided steroid use also, but don't know till when .. Every day I think it will improve , but its just spreading Can somebody help me please? -Raji
Guest guest
Can you describe him physically? Is he very thin with small bones? Is he very active? Have you tried to apply oil to his body - sometimes mustard oil works very well in cases where allergies or impurities are the concern. I would try it on a patch of his skin. Why do you not give him fruit? Boiled fruit could be very useful for him - like apple sauce pears, peaches apricots are good for the skin. Stemed vegetables and rice are also good, try not to use soy products. he should eat ghee with rice as well home made yoghurt also is good. Tell a bit about his appearance and activities too and we can discuss him further rtalukdarr <rtalukdarr wrote: My 3 year old kid has eczema since he was 2 months old.Blood test was done when he was 18 months old and we found that he is severely allergic to potato, eggs.Moderately to milk ,almond, lentils, wheat, cashew. <snip>
Guest guest
Thanks for writing ,here are the answers > Can you describe him physically? > Is he very thin with small bones? > Is he very active? -Yes he is very thin and quite active, always running around > Have you tried to apply oil to his body - sometimes mustard oil works very well in cases where allergies or impurities are the concern. I would try it on a patch of his skin. -I have tried all oils - coconut, olive etc , they turn his skin more reddish > Why do you not give him fruit? > Boiled fruit could be very useful for him - like apple sauce > pears, peaches apricots are good for the skin. -He does not like to eat fruits,I try to give him everything.Sometimes he takes apples.Only fruit he likes is watermelon > Stemed vegetables and rice are also good, try not to use soy products. he should eat ghee with rice as well > home made yoghurt also is good. -He is allergic to casein , so I thought its better to avoid all dairy products > Tell a bit about his appearance and activities too and we can discuss him further. His height and weight are less than an average 3 year old boy.Likes books ,listen to stories ,play and continously do something or the other. Recently he had an ear infection and after taking antibiotics he is all flared up and has become very cranky. Hope I answered all your questions Thanks again -Raji
