Guest guest
Dear Friends, I was just doing some research about sleep problems. I read this quote from Guru K: " Speaking from a yogic perspective, the amount of sleep can vary a lot from person to person. My teacher said all one really needs is 1-2 hours of sleep a day. " I have been meditating for many years. At first it made it easy to sleep but now I can meditate for hours and not get sleepy. I have decreased my meditations to 20 min twice per day and have taken up a mantra. This is very stimulating too. When I do retire, I fall asleep quite easily and sleep for one to three hours and wake up thinking it must be morning but it is usually between 1 and 2 a.m. I wouldn't have a problem but without more sleep I have pain and irritability. Sometimes I get up and do something but mostly I just try to go back to sleep, with varying success. I read that we need to sleep for at least 4 hours straight through a night and I would love to be able to do that. When I can, my days just go so much better. Oh, by the way I often have very horrible dreams when I am able to sleep long enough to get into REM. I know part of it is hormonal because of menopause. When I was on hormone replacement I slept very well. I do not want to take hormones anymore. I also don't want to get dependent on any herb or medication. So here I am, getting desparate. Thanks for any help. Jill
Guest guest
hi. for sleep problems u can use jatamansi / nard (nardosctachys jatamansi) , gotu kola (i think it's mandukaparni in india, centella asiatica is scientific name) and ashwagandha (withania somnifera) but tell us more about ur dreams and other sympthoms related to insomnia so we can understand if it's pitta or vata for menopausal problems u can use glycyrrhiza glabra or fenis (foeniculum vulgare) or anis(pimpinella anisum), they have big ammounts of estrogens, and wild yam (dioscoreea vilosa) for progesteron. glycerinic extract from rubus idaeus or ribes nigrum is ballancing. Guest guest
Dear Jill have a nice sleeping habit. I welcome you in in health group. I think that we can not decide for the actual required duration for every person. and a person can decide himself for the same better. that is why , some persons sleep so much and some of them sleep very little. I think it depends only on you to make a habit for sleep duration. If you want to sleep more to be better in routine life you may use an oil named " ROGHAN LABOOB SAB'A " . It is very safe and have to aply it on head at bed time when you go to sleep, like any other oil.this is a Unani preparation and you can get it from any unani medical shop. I an enjoying it for the last 15 or more years from the age of 60 to now at 75 plus. Just enjoy it for the rest of your life without any hassles. But, please read all that is on the website as you can derive many other health benefits holistically. Any doubt? Just email me and I would rush to reply. These exercises and some do's and don't about food and exercise given elsewhere at the website would also help you in balancing the three 'doshas'. Guest guest
Dear Sir, I checked out your site and videos and tried a little of the technique. Will continue to try at night and let you know how I'm doing. Thanks so much for your suggestion. I like not having to take a substance because then I might have to depend on them and don't want to have to do that. Much appreciation, Jill
Guest guest
So many people all around the world are clicking YouTube link successfully. I have done it many times. Please try again or else get a full VCD from me at a very concessional or nominal charge. DHL charge a minimum of Rs. 2500 (about $ 60) but I have found a cheaper way through India post if you send just about 23 US dollars or something equivalent to Rs. 1,100 so that alongwith the VCD, I can send you some literature that might be helpful to you in many ways. You can remit it through Western India Money Transfer if possible. But in any case, please don't suffer unnecessarily, Wishing you speedy recovery, S. M.
