Guest guest
I wonder if anyone has any tips on how to prevent or at least minimize stretch marks when my pregnant tummy starts to get big? I've bought Burts Bees cream for pregnant tummies, but read that creams wont really help. I've heard there might be exercises that help. Also, I've read that its a bad idea to do situps while you are pregnant, but the same book also said that I should do some ab strengthening exercises to help in labor. What other ab exercises do you suggest?
Guest guest
The stretch marks come when the abdomen has stretched to its fullest capacity if you produce a lot of collagen the effects are reduced what I did was massage my tummy with oil - sesame from the seventh month onward - I have given birth to three nine pound children and have minimal stretch marks most of which came from my first pregnancy during which time I did not do massage and scratched my abdomen when the skin started to stretch - scratching seems to make them worse. Really rub the abdomen in circular movements to help it become more stretchy. After having my first child and seeing the stretch marks I applied turmeric and mustard oil postpartum - this reduced the amount of stretch marks though some still remain. Rubbing this on the skin during pregnancy may help to prevent them. Bastika pranayama may also help. To tone abdominal muscles we can do bastrika pranyama - pranayama is of utmost importance during pregnancy because the proper breathing can help mom get into a state of meditiation during delivery - I have had four pain free deliveries due to pranayama performed during pregnancy and labour. I have taught many women prenatal yoga and they inform me that the pranayama helped them immensley. We can also do side bends, chakkichalanasana, setubandh asana - there are so many useful yoga poses to help prepare the body for labour and delivery. Waliking is a great form of simple exercise, swimming and water aerobics are also very helpful and take a lot of pressure off of the body during the later stages of pregnancy. I have found that strengthening the thighs is also useful for an easy delivery and exercises that support the back are also wonderful. In teh last month various squating exercises can be done to prepare the pelvis - pelvic floor for delivery and massage is very helpful for encouraging the downward flow of apana vayu - the wind responsible for deliver. remindersofthen <remindersofthen wrote: I wonder if anyone has any tips on how to prevent or at least minimize stretch marks when my pregnant tummy starts to get big?
