Guest guest
There is more to the story than this. The research you cite points out that there is indeed a problem with taking the alpha-only form of vitamin E. There is also a danger in taking beta-carotene (without all the other carotenoids). Given that most people who take vitamin E take the alpha-only form, we should heed the warning published in JAMA this month. If you are in the US, look into " Unique E " from A.C. Grace Company. If you can't get something just as good, maybe you would be better off getting all your vitamin E from your diet. I'm surprised so many vitamins on the market continue to include beta-carotene without the other carotenoids. If you vitamin is one of those, you need to think twice about taking it. There are a couple good food source full spectrum carotenoid supplements on the market. If you are taking only beta-carotene, the warnings published in JAMA should concern you.
