Guest guest
Hello everyone I have just completed my 7th liver cleanse, 4 months on from my 1st and am now wondering if and when I should stop cleansing every 3 weeks. Andreas Moritz recommends continuing cleansing until no further stones are expelled. This 7th cleanse has produced very few stones, and those that it did were very small (no pea sized as at the beginning). I have noticed an improvement in the flushing, but not in the appearance of the skin so far, but following the food guidelines may be reason. I avoid all the heat producing and congesting foods as recommended as far as possible, but I possibly eat too much fruit and occasionally other foods not in the favour list of the pitta diet. Maybe damp heat is the problem? My question is: should I continue with the cleansing any further or simply stick more rigidly to the food and supplement guidelines but cleanse periodically? The weight loss issue is also a concern, since I am already underweight and have lost more during the cleansing. Best wishes to One Love and the group. Guest guest
Hi Steve, If you still have spots on your skin, you still have toxins in your system (the spots are places where toxins are trying to push through, because your colon can't handle the load). Have you done colonics complemented with toxin-absorbing bentonite liquid and a fibre? Some people use psyllium (but a few may be allergic to it). I find eating Kichadi (recipe is in the files of this news group) really helps in cooling down the pitta (and so does the Ayurvedic cleanse -- also in the files). You might have trouble finding the hulled mung beans, in that case use the green mung beans -- you just have to cook them longer. Guest guest
Why do you think you haven't seen improvement after the seventh cleanse? Is there anyone out there who can say this has cured their rosacea other than One love?
Guest guest
Greetings Steve I am glad to hear you have been employing the protocol as recommended. Like Andreas suggests, it is best to continue cleansing every 2 to 3 weeks until no more stones are passed. The low number of stones from your 7th cleanse indicates some blockage that will clear with continued cleansing. Also it is recommended to follow the diet guidelines as closely as possbile during the cleansing process. If low weight is an issue, then I would modify the diet. Please see prior posts regarding this. I admire your patience to see this through. The improvement in your flushing indicates progress. The continued removal of heat and toxins will bring further progress. You can do it Steve! Guest guest
Thanks for the advice, PC. Spots have never been a major problem for me - it is more the telangiactasia, redness and enlarged pores that are the problem, and these are not improving as yet. I have not tried the toxin absorbing supplements with the colonic - perhaps that is the next step. There are so many possible interventions to experiment with, and factors that can affect rosacea, that it is quite bewildering! I'll keep persevering, though, since I have benefitted more from following the guidelines of this group than anything else. Guest guest
Hi One Love Thanks for the advice. I would hope that the low number of stones passed in the 7th cleanse indicates that they are almost completely eliminated, since there have been progressively fewer expelled with each cleanse. My concern is about going beyond 7 cleanses (has anyone in the group cleansed more than seven times in the space of a few months?)and of any possible side effects from consuming so large a quantity of epsom salts. With the low weight issue, would the introduction of almonds into the diet be advisable (these are in the favour section of the pitta diet)? Help is on the way, Steve! Have a look at this post regarding an epsom salt substitute: http://health./message/438 PC

Hi Steve, I do recommend more colon cleansing. It really is the key to getting rid of skin problems. Be gentle and thorough. So, don't take a lot fibre at once, say, and get constipated (it's very easy to do this). Go a little at a time and if you can DO get colonics. Before I learned about liver flushing I got some laser treatments for my skin, which were great in the mid-term. That is, they cleared me up *pretty well*, but the telangiasctasia and flat blind spots kept returning. Once I started the liver cleansing (and I'd been doing bowel cleansing for a while by then) they stopped! I haven't had laser treatment in nearly a year (I discovered liver flushing just this past February). BTW, back to fibre -- I OVER did it in the past two weeks, and got a zit. Proof of a slowed-down system. So, I can speak from experience: easy does it, even if you think you're doing OK. Have I said, " don't push it " ? ;-) See if you can find some digestive enzymes and some all-around essential fatty acids. All at the health food store! Good luck! Guest guest
Thanks for that info PC. I have also fallen into the trap of too much fibre after the cleansing - I feel the need to eat larger amounts to compensate for the weight loss, as I am already underweight, but the end result is constipation and gas. I take acidophilus, but it seems to have little effect at present, so other digestive aids would seem to be agood idea. Was there a post on herbal laxatives some time ago? How often is it sensible to colon cleanse aside from pre and post liver cleansing? I tend to have two colonics during the week of preparation for liver cleanse and one immediately after, and then try to return to normal elimination, but this is when the problems begin to arise. Guest guest
Hi Steve, I'm a whole different constitution from you. Everything works pretty quickly on me, it seems: liver cleansing quickly cleared my skin and has gone a long way in helping me with digestion issues. My only problem is being a tight a**! Have you looked up your Ayurvedic body type? This is a good place to start to figure out what it is you should eat and should avoid eating for your particular constitution. Just do a search on " Ayurvedic type " and you'll soon find a few " quizzes " . The redness on your face makes you sound like part pitta. Your inability to gain weight also makes you part vata. Do you eat meals at regular times? You should. For one thing it calms pitta, for another it might help you hold on to some weight. But it is important to find out which foods are the ones you should be eating. I did really well skin-wise when I did a colonic just before my liver flush and just after (e.g., colonic Thursday, flush Friday, colonic Saturday). To soften up stones I use Chanca Piedra and Apple Juice. This simple combo works really well for me. This year I've been doing liver flushes pretty regularly, so I've been having colonics pretty regularly, too. More so than before. But I feel I still have more old waste from various organs to eliminate. (also, let me add in here that the Ayurvedic cleanse works well on me, too. It really melts the redness out of me.) You said it was after you were trying to return to regular elimiation after each flush that you had problems. Did you get constipated, you mean? Have you done castor oil packs? These are very calming and healing. I put my over my belly and over my liver. the packs do help elimiation. I'm not sure how it does it, but it does! I can't recall a post about herbal laxatives here. I find magnesium products can help. There's something you can find on line called Natural Calm, which is a magnesium regulator. You take it any time of day. Finally, if you feel something is still lacking, you might want to look into homeopathy. Again, you can check on line about it. There are " quizzes " to help you determine what you need. Or you can see a practitioner. And drink lots of pure water! Regards, PC
