Dear Friends,

Just wanted to report having some great success with facial clearing.

I feel like I have my face back! Many red patches have disappeared

or turned a pleasant light pink (a " healthy glow " ), and the swelling

has gone down. I attribute the clearing to a few factors.

1. I just finished my second liver cleanse 3 days ago, during which I

flushed out about 300 larger stones. The first cleanse, I got about

1000 smaller stones out. Wow. How could a little ole' liver harbor

all those stones? My energy level is off-the-charts, and I feel great.

2. I did a huge, comprehensive top-to-bottom cleaning of my house,

during which I dealt with dust and mold problems that had been

overlooked. My rosacea had developed after moving into this

particular house, which I always knew was moldy. I'd always suspected

a link between my system's inflammation and the environmental

allergens in the house. After dealing with the mold (walls covered

with it), I experienced almost-immediate clearing (this before the

liver cleanse).

3. I starting taking some homeopathic allergy tinctures, for tree

pollen (crazy bad right now...off the charts) and mold/dust. The

homeopathic principle of " like cures like " really works! Allopathic

alergy shots even work this way. The tinctures have really helped my

skin, and indeed all my inflammation.

It is my firm belief that my rosacea is really linked to my food

allergies and environmental allergies, which keep me suspended in a

constant state of inflammation (which we know as excess heat). I

think my system as a bucket that gets filled with water as my

allergies get worse (an analogy I picked up from Dr. William Walsh, a

naturopathic allergist). When an environmental toxin fills my bucket

on a daily basis, the rest of the allergies (food) cause water to

splash out onto the floor, flaring my rosacea and causing achey

joints, headaches and tiredness. It's a cumulative systemic response.

If I address the environmental toxicity, I lower the level of water

in my bucket and reduce the reactivity of my food sensitivities, so

the water doesn't splash out onto the floor (flares don't happen).

The reaction is lesser and the cells can handle it better.

Dr. Arlen Brownstein speaks to this same principle in her book,

" Rosacea: A Self-Help Guide " : she discusses immune complexes that

float around in the body when allergic foods are eaten, causing

systemic inflammation (excess heat!) and often precipitating a rosacea

flare. When your body's in a constant state of " immune reactivity, "

if over-reacts to lesser allergens, and the cycle of inflammation is

really hard to break.

I understand that not everybody's rosacea is " allergic, " like mine,

but I strongly suspect that environmental conditions are at the root

of many people's suffering. And of course a cleaner liver is more able

to repond to the inevitable onslaught of new toxins, be they allergic

in nature or not. I feel like I've finally cracked an important code

to well-being!

Happy Spring, all,

Jen Bernard

Hi Jen

Wow, I am happy you have made progress! I too wonder

how so many stones can clog the liver and gallbladder.

Nothing like getting rid of them. I appreciate your

thoughts and insights.

Chinese medicine relates both rosacea and allergies to

what they call internal " damp heat. " The best way to

remove damp heat is through cleansing, diet

modification, and exercise.

Kind regards

Jen, Thanks for the info. That sounds great. Where do you live? I'm

wondering where Dr. Walsh practices?

Did you notice rapid aging with all of the rosacea problems? I too am highly

allergic to mold and think that it may play a big part in my rosacea. Thanks

again and be well! Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for the response. You were wondering where I live...Portland,

Oregon. It's a wonderful place to live, but a hotbed for allergens of

all kinds. I don't see Dr. Walsh personally....I read his book, " Food

Allergies: A Complete Guide to Understanding and Relieving Your Food

Allergies. " It's a highly informative book, which addresses the most

common food allergies and describes throroughly the process of allergy

reaction itself. I highly recommend this book to anyone with food or

environmental sensitivities.

I recently scrubbed a lot of mold off my walls, and am now using an

Ionic Air purifier to keep the air clean.....supposedly it will take

the mold spores out of the air so I won't breathe them. I always

suspected I was allergic to mold....I would even experience oral

itching after eating blue cheese, and it would often cause flushing.

Tell me about your mold experience when you have a chance.
