Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to the group and it's my first time posting. I only have flare-ups ONCE a day. I guess I'm lucky, but this is a pain. As soon as I eat lunch - no matter what time of day, no matter what I eat, no matter where I am, I get a flare-up for about one hour. My nose gets bright red and is very hot to the touch. Then, everything goes back to ''normal''. I have very fair skin and had freckles when I was younger. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions (other than not eating lunch?) Thank you. Guest guest
I can sympathise because I have exactly the same problem, although my nose burns in the evenings as well, sometimes. I have found that limiting the amount of carbohydrates with a high glycaemic index (e.g. potato, bread - especially white, rice) helps to prevent the post-meal flare ups. I now eat mainly vegetables and pulses (such as red lentils - yellow split mung beans have also been suggested in this group). It may also be worth considering eating fruit separately from others (i.e. not as desert straight after lunch) , and eat high protein foods like meat or fish away from others, or not at all. Sounds drastic and boring, but I am learning that drastic situations call for drastic measures! Guest guest
When I bought the Roscoe LTD products they sent me a guideline on foods. Since I've been attentive to this I've noticed a lot of my flares are food related. Here are some things to think about. First- acidic foods aggravate Roscoe Second- food allergies Third- spicy foods Fourth- temperature of foods and beverages Fifth- blood sugar issues Sixth- things that raise your adrenaline levels: caffeine, sugar Also is there anything stressful about your lunch hour? When I'm around a lot of people I flush overtime I say anything.
