Guest guest
Time Magazine Inflammation and Rosacea In the February 23, 2004 issue of Time magazine, the cover story is titled The Secret Killer: The Surprising Link Between Inflammation and Heart Attacks, Cancer, Alzheimer's and Other Diseases. The article cites how western medicine is now discovering inflammation to be at the root of killer diseases like heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes. Unfortunately, the article gives little in terms of answers except for minor diet modification, exercise, and experimental drugs replete with side effects. The article goes on to state that inflammation is a burgeoning new field and researchers are still searching for solutions which could take decades to discover. There is no mention of what eastern medicine has to say about inflammation. From the viewpoint of eastern medicine, inflammation is simply an imbalance of heat inside the body. This includes rosacea. Heating and congesting foods, sedentary lifestyle, and stressful emotions all contribute to the onset of inflammation. The answer to preventing and removing inflammation according to eastern medicine is diet modification, exercise, stress reduction, and internal cleansing. Answers that western medicine are still searching for have been known by eastern medicine for thousands of years.
