Guest guest
My Rosacea Experience It was in 1986 that I first experienced rosacea. I was eating a fairly healthy diet, but I went back to eating a food item that I had stopped eating years earlier because of my desire to be healthy. The food item was chocolate. I did not know it at the time, but Ayurvedic medicine considers chocolate to be a congesting food, particularly to the liver. Also I was going through a lot of emotional stress then too. Both of the cheeks on my face quickly developed a beet red skin rash that would not go away. Also the rash had some swelling which would ooze moisture from time to time. Chinese medicine classifies this as damp heat. I experimented with numerous herbs and some accupunture with no results. I also went to a dermatologist who tried to convince me something from outside was irritating my skin. He gave me a topical ointment that did nothing. No one needs to tell me about embarrassment, or people looking and wondering what disease I might have, and if it is contagious. After ten months of having the rash which would fluctuate in degrees of redness, something very unusual happened. I drank a cold carbonated mineral water in the evening. When I layed down to go to sleep, I could feel a rumbling energy in my liver area that rose up my chest to my face. The next morning, my face looked like I had an alergic reaction to soap or very bad posion oak. My face was very swollen and my eyes were nearly swollen shut. I was shocked to say the least! About a week later, the swelling was gone and to my amazement, no more red face rash at all. My assumption is that the carbonated water somehow released the heat in my liver, which lead to the rash disappearing. The rash never came back until the spring of 2002. I feel it came back due my consumption of homogonized pasteurized milk and more emotional stress in my life. With the last rash experience, and having studied both Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, I knew my liver was clogged again. Plus, I could actually feel tension in my liver area this time. In terms of Chinese medicine, each internal organ is associated with particular emotions and a season of the year. They classify the liver with anger and spring. The expanding energy of spring tends to activate liver energy. They say anger damages the liver and disrupts the flow of energy in the liver. They also say the energy of anger gets stuck in the liver. This time around, I knew I had to focus on decongesting my liver. Way back in the early eighties before all this, I read in a booklet by herb doctor John Christopher about a liver flush using olive oil. I remember it was supposed to clear stones from the liver-gallbladder for the purpose of optimizing health which I have always been interested in. I tried it but nothing happened. This time, I wanted to research the liver flush more completely. Also this time I had a search engine to do research. Up popped The Amazing Liver Cleanse by Andreas Moritz. I read the book and it made sense. I did the cleanse and it had an immediate effect in reducing redness, but not completely. I also noticed any foods which eastern medicine classifies as heating would increase redness. After a few months of doing more liver cleanses, the purgation cleanse of ayurveda, and eating a diet according to my ayurvedic body type, my symptoms were gone! Also, I did much research into the mechanics of why this works. Ayurveda says all skin disorders are due to heat and toxins in the blood. Chinese medicine essentially says the same thing. Chinese medicine uses herbs, acupuncture, and what is called cupping to remove toxic heat, however I feel the cleansing procedures I have outlined with diet modification is more direct and thorough. In other words, a complete cure. Also my success was not the only one. Other people that I saw through books, websites, and email were doing cleanses, modifying their diet, and getting cured of more than just skin disorders! Will medical institutions fund case study analysis to verify the treatment procedures I have outlined in which they will not make money? Not likely. How long will it be before alternative medicine documents this information? I don't know. It is initially going to take individuals taking the time to put the principles into practice and getting cured. Then by word of mouth, the information will get out. For most things that are new, there are first adopters, those who wait and see, and many who don't even see. I sympathize with those who are seeking answers in the current climate of confusion and conflicting views regarding rosacea and health. I hope my experience brings clarity and is one of inspiration so you receive the cure that you are seeking.
