Guest guest
25th July, 2007 From : Dr. Leo Rebello Once again Mumbai Mirror (a Times of India publication) has published an ignorant report on Yellow Fever Vaccine In Short Supply in today's issue. It says Vaccination Centre at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at Mumbai had only 60 injection vials on Tuesday and gives a photograph of people queueing up at Yellow Fever Vaccine Centre at Sahar. The report further says that one centre at Ballard Pier was closed down due to vaccines not being supplied. And if this only centre were to close down, then people will have to spend Rs.3500 abroad instead of Rs.150. I do NOT understand why people must take Yellow Fever Vaccine since India is not a Yellow Fever country. I am reproducing below a telling paragraph from page 5 of my book Holistic Healing in Tropical Diseases. "How many doctors even know the symptoms of Yellow fever and claim to have treated it? Yet, people coming from 'yellow fever countries' are being quarantined (even though urban yellow fever has not been reported since 1942)". For more details read Yellow Fever chapter from my said book. A good newspaper has to educate people. Here the newspaper is misguiding and creating scare to help the corrupt Pharma mafia which is fleecing our country by peddling unnecessary drugs, vaccines, multi-vitamins and cough syrups. Shame on the Editors, Correspondents working for the Times of India group of newspaper.
