Khusboo took the vaccine 15 times Express News Service Lucknow, June 11: Despite repeated rounds of Pulse Polio drives in the state, a suspected polio case has been reported in the civil hospital of the city. Five-year-old Khusboo has been admitted at the Civil Hospital with symptoms of polio. Doctors have sent samples to the office of Chief Medical Officer for a polio virus test. According to the latest report of National Polio surveillance, 37 cases of the disease have been reported from the state. If the sample of Khusboo comes positive, it would be the first polio case from the state capital this year. Ironically, Khusboo, the daughter of a vegetable vendor and a resident of Fauzi colony in Azad Nagar, has been administered around 10 rounds of polio drops in last five years. The health officials, though, are using this fact to stress that there was no negligence in administering the drops to the child. It, however, certainly raises questions on the efficacy of the vaccine. “We have been giving her polio drops for last five years. The last dose was taken just 15 days ago during the lastest pulse polio drive. If this is what one gets after taking polio drops regularly, we would rather not give it to our child,” said Saeem Bano, Khusboo’s mother. For over a month, local doctors have been suspecting Khusboo had polio, “Her condition deteriorated the day before yesterday, as she lost control over her neck,” her mother said. Khusboo is unable to keep her neck straight. She needs support for it. Dr Nanda Kishore, who is looking after Khusboo, said: “Suspecting polio, we have send her stool samples to CMO’s office, which will forward it to the testing laboratory. The case can only be confirmed once the reports come back after 10 to 15 days.” Dr Jai Singh, the district Immunisation Officer, said: “We have registered her case under Acute Flaccid Paralysis and have sent the samples for further test. There is nothing to worry about as over 40 cases of acute flaccid paralysis have been identified by us this year and none have proven positive for polio virus.” US: 1 in 150 children has AutismUS: 1 in 6 children suffers a developmental disorderNew Jersey: 1 in 94 has Autism UK: 1 in 86 has Autism China : Over 20 lakh autistic children, India : No authentic figures, expected one crore+ (1 in 250) AUTISM IS NOTHING BUT MERCURY POISONING.
