11 REAL ADVENTURERS NEEDED BY " PARIKRAMA " TO CREATE A HISTORY OF

PRIDE FOR GUJARAT & TO BESTOW REPUTATION BY COMPLETING SNOW MAN TREK

IN BHUTAN

 

An environment loving institution of adventurous youth who invades

river, sea, jungle, mountains, desert & sky - " PARIKRAMA " is going to

organize an extra ordinarily adventurous & world's most challenging

trekking expedition of 35 days in to the most remote region of Laya

and Lunana, the absolutely desolate & spectacular landscape in

Bhutan, called as " Snowman Trek " during Sept. 13 to Oct. 19, 2007.

The aim of this abnormally Peculiar, unique & extraordinarily

challenging expedition is to compose a history of pride for Gujarat

in the field of adventurous activities especially in trekking.

 

The trek up to Laya is obviously the most difficult in Bhutan & is

considered to be one of the toughest in the world and though fewer

than 50 trekkers of the world each year journey through this world

famous " inaccessible corner " of Himalaya located exactly in the

middle of Northern Bhutan ranges of immense snow peaks souring to

over 7000 meters, the assembly of " parikrama " has got a rid of an

adventure to expedite it successfully by making it more difficult up

to the one & only toughest & exceptionally challenging trek of the

world, by extending it up to Lunana because of their habit to

endeavor one or two peculiar unique & specially designed adventure

every year since 1993.

 

This trek comprises the greater part of the already challenging Laya

trek before heading off towards Lunana. This diversion adds an

additional two weeks & involves the crossing of a further 7 passes.

The team will go across a severe test of their highest expertise in

training & skillfulness of rock climbing & mountaineering by crossing

9 passes in total including 6 passes over 5000 meters, where in one

pass having a way besides a top of a highly slipary desert peak

called as " Tsemo the Killer " during this 376 kms. long trek from

Thimpu and back, continuously remains over 13500 fts., faced with an

almost continual series of obstacles, bone chilling cold and off and

all changing weather.

 

The said expedition will be completed in " fully survival

manner " totally on the self back packing way not only to add an

uncommon challenge but to reduce the 70% of cost by avoiding all

facilities like porter, ponies, cook etc.- very similar to the every

day journeys of the few inhabitants of Laya & Lunana who are former-

herders & are notorious for their nature who have never seen a cycle

even. Considering these all the Record books (Guinness & Limca) will

be contacted after finalizing the team narrating all challenging

features and its unique route as any other 376 kms. long expedition

in Himalayas in such an extra ordinary manner was never ever carried

out before.

 

Now a days strength of trekkers is undoubtedly increasing in the

world & even in Gujarat but the quality of trekking & trekkers had

gone to the bottom is a hard fact. The youth of Gujarat is interested

in fun & enjoyment in the name of trekking & at the same time in this

age of " Adventure Tourism " there are a big lot of low profile

individuals & organizations that are always ready to make it confirm

that trekking means only fun & luxury. Mr, Mahesh Bhatt the president

of " parikrama " has taken a serious note of this sad fact & is

trying tireless efforts by remain determined to bring this level up

since 1993 in this field. Many extra ordinary treks were successfully

completed by " parikrama " in their leadership & as a result " Ice

trekking " in Himalayas & " Castle trekking " in Shahyadri are the two

new directions opened up for the adventure lovers. At this stage it

is worth to mention that 370 kms long Manali-Leh-Khardunglapass ice

trekking organized by parikrama (April 29 - May 30 1995) had bestowed

a reputation for not only Gujarat but for India among the adventures

of the world by engraving its details on the pages of Limca Book of

Records.

 

According to Mr. Mahesh Bhatt it is not at all possible to complete

this adventure by the present highly determined team of 5 of this

organization. It is in all respect necessary to bring the strength up

till 16 to distribute the load at its maximum on the back of each

other, to reduce the cost at its best & to provide an opportunity for

such as uncommon adventure to the other interested and that is why "

parikrama " cordially invite 11 real adventures to become a part of

success in this big task. The estimated per head cost for this event

is Rs. 45,000/- which should be kept individually by each member to

make payment as and when it is required.

permissions well in advance from the concern dept. of Govt. of India

& Bhutan and for the fulfillment of preparation & practice for the

selected candidates male-female of the age group of 25 to 45 who are

firmly faithful in God & Nature, possessing both excellent health and

an unwavering sense of adventure, courageous & mentally confident,

able to change them self according to the language, social custom,

physical geography and off and all changing weather & can join this
