Guest guest
Hi all, In another one of my groups one of the parents expressed concern over her child who was dyslexic and ADHD and the struggle they had to read. Early on he wore colored glasses but the school said he could no longer wear them in class. I knew I had seen something in my research on this disorder related to overlays, so I did a search and here were some of the tings that came up (below) . I found this in one of the links below. The Virtual Reading Ruler http://www.crossboweducation.com/Virtual%20Reading%20Rulers.htm Try it out. I am not dyslexic but I tried this virtual ruler just to get a feel for what it could do. I read alot on the computer and print out much I want to read cause it is easier on me. Using the Virtual Ruler I scanned through the colors spectrum supplied and couldn't believe the difference there was (fatigue factor and strain) when i selected the lilac overlay. I can see how this would really be of benefit to someone who had big problems reading. My granddaughter, really struggles like this and I am going to have her see which color makes things better for her as soon as she gets here tonight. I really feel for her cause she really misses out due to struggling to read. They also have the overlays and an over lay ruler so once she sees which one best suits her I've already decided to purchase overlays in that color for her. It is so nice that something like this is available.
