Guest guest
Now, it’s Dhanvantari Deeksha for your healthTuesday December 5 2006 10:39 IST http://www.newindpress.com/NewsItems.asp?ID=IEA20061205001815 & Title=Southern+News+%2D+Andhra+Pradesh & rLink=0 VIJAYAWADA: You have had Ayyappa Deekshas. You have had Bhavani Deekshas. You have had Govinda Deekshas and Hanuman Deekshas. Here is the latest of Deekshas - the Dhanvantari Deeksha. No need for bare-footed treks to shrines and no signature attire. This Deeksha involves herbal oil massages, steam baths, internal cleansing, purifying processes, consumption of health drinks and medicated food. Then there is a judicious dose of yoga and pranayama.“This deeksha is disease-specific. We give a customised daily routine to the Deekshadharis. There are different deeksha routines for diabetics, cardiac patients, asthmatics and the obese,” said Suraksha Yogalaya director K Manikyeswara Rao, who conceptualised the deeksha. Those taking the deeksha can participate in their daily routine. In the evening, however, they should perform Dhanvantari pooja and receive Dhanvantari prasadam as their dinner. The deeksha is performed for the first fortnight of every month. The people are then encouraged to effect suitable changes in their lifestyle for the next fortnight. This unique deeksha focuses on health and mental poise and unlike other deekshas that are mainly religious, religious aspect has only a corollary role in Dhanvantari Deeksha.“The idea is to popularise the ayurvedic way of life, which is the answer to all the lifestyle-related ailments. The Garuda Purana mentions of a Dhanvantari Deeksha and we have suitably modified it in view of the popularity of various religious deekshas,” Rao said. “In fact, health and lifestyle improvement is an undercurrent in all the religious deekshas,” he said. The Suraksha Yogalaya will soon have an Ayurvedic beauty spa, a yoga training centre, a pre-school gurukul for kids and a 50-bed Ayurvedic hospital. The idea is to popularise the ayurvedic way of life, which is the answer to all the lifestyle-related ailmentsVaccination procedures are a politically motivated non-science, whose practitioners are only interested in injecting multitudes of vaccines without much interest or care as to their effects. Data collection on reactions to vaccines is only paid lip service, and the obvious ineffectiveness of vaccines to prevent diseases is glossed over. The fact that natural infectious diseases have beneficial effect on the maturation and development of the immune system is ignored or deliberately suppressed. Consequently, parents of small children and any potential recipients of vaccines and any orthodox medications should be wary of any member of the medical establishment extolling the non-existent virtues of vaccination. - Viera Scheibner, Ph.D. Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail beta.
