Namaskar Chatterjee babu, I understand that during the Mahabharata war there was use (every evening) of Ashwagandha and other herbal medicines for healing the wounds. During the Ramayana war too there was use of Vishalyakarani, Sanjivani, Swarupakarani and Sandhani. There was a TV news-report sometime ago that some tribal people were found using Sandhani, which they call by the name sandhani itself, for healing wounds. It was reported to be better than the modern medicines for that purpose. Nothing further was heard about that afterwards. Has it been discussed in this forum earlier? If not can some of our learned members throw light on it?
