Side-effects of drugs used for ADHD include cardiac arrhythmiasand psychosis.¡ According to a DEA Report: "Ritalin is structurally andpharmacologically similar to amphetamines and cocaine and has thesame dependency profile.Ritalin produces amphetamine and cocaine-like reinforcing effectsincluding increased rate of euphoria and drug liking.Treatment with Ritalin in childhood predisposes takers to cocaine'sreinforcing effects."¡ Basic physiology and research support the fact that sugar canhave a negative affect on children's behavior, learning andattention.¡ Nutritional deficiencies can cause attention and behaviorsymptoms.¡ There are many health and learning problems that cause ADHDsymptoms, many of which can be dealt with at home.http://www.blockcenter.com/pages/pages_news.asp#6_________________JoAnn Guestmrsjo-http://www.geocities.com/mrsjoguest After all, they (the pro-vaccine lobbyists) say to themselves, you can't make an omelette withoutbreaking eggs. Jagannath,

Thanks for researching this very important information.

The question I have for you and other Vaidyas is regarding diet.

Would the advice be to give a diet according to the doshas i.e. Pitta

where the child displays anger and hyperactive all the time, Vata -

erratic. Kapha - inattention, cannot be bothered.

Similarly which Ayur herbs and dosage would be safe for these

kids 4 to 7 years age group.

I am confident in my own practice of prescribing diets and herbs to

adults, but I do not have much expereince with the exception of

Brahmi in administering herbs to kids.

Many thanks

Ray
