Curing Arthritis Easily

This refers to your report on the observance of World

Arthritis Day (Pune Newsline Oct 13). Not only senior

citizens but also younger adults are suffering from

bone and joint problems. Osteoarthritis of the knee is

very common.

Patients are running from pillar to post without

getting much relief. Many land up for total knee

replacement surgeries. Former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee,

although operated for both his knees, is not seen

walking normally even on a single day so far.

But the cure is unbelievably simple and is all in the

hands of the patients themselves. One must eat

seasonal fruits and vegetables, steamed or

semi-cooked, if necessary with minimum of spices. When

human beings had not known any elaborate cooking, or

modern houses nor any gadgets, they used to eat raw

seasonal vegetables and fruits well-ripened on the

trees and walk and run for miles without getting

tired.

Even today, many tribes in rural areas live the same

way without suffering from arthritis and other

lifestyle diseases. What prevents civilized human

beings from eating naturally grown fruits and

vegetables? They even taste better. They are made by

God or Mother Nature especially for us just like the

mother’s milk. Why add unnecessary and costly spices,

oils and other condiments and spoil their natural and

wholesome taste?

So also, why can’t you walk a little more daily and as

often as you can? Or else, at least do simple yoga and

yogic breathing exercises (pranayam) and some relevant

postures (yogasanas). Drink enough water to produce

about two liters of urine daily. That keeps your

kidneys flushed and the blood purified sans toxins so

that your body and mind also get purified and filled

with pure thoughts and spiritualism

I also suffered from all these lifestyle diseases such

as backache, knee pain, migraine, slip disc, sciatica

and even heart problems till about 60 years of age.

Then I adopted simple lifestyle with regular exercises

and got cured of all such health problems. It is easy,

cheap with no hassles and doable.

So do it and be twice blessed instead of being a

sacrificial goat at the altar of modern medicine;
