Guest guest
Dealing with fearBy Ingrid , Scotland (This is a real story by a real mother)Fear is a very strong, powerful and necessary emotion. It protects us from dangerous situations and can help to save our life. Therefore, I believe, it is often used by governments and other agencies irresponsibly to direct people into a certain course of action influence their decisions and cut out rational thinking. As a mother I am only too aware of how powerful fear can become and how it overtakes all Common Sense. When my son was only 2 months, he displayed some very unusual behaviour, which happened on the evening of the day he had received his first dose of DTP/Polio vaccination. He cried inconsolably for several hours, the crying was high – pitched and sounded like he was in pain. He arched his back and refused to breastfeed – which can become serious in such a young baby. We thought he had meningitis. The same happened after his 3 and 4 months DTP/Polio boosters. At the time, we didn’t know that he was reacting to his vaccination; nobody had told us that this can be a reaction to the vaccinations. We were very scared. Fortunately, he calmed down late at night and breastfed again – but he did sleep for much longer than usual during those nights, which was unusual for him. My son had also developed eczema shortly after his second jab.A few months later, I was given some information from non biased sources about vaccination. This information provided me with some very challenging views. The more I read the more open I became to what I learned; and the more I learned the more I wanted to know. I was beginning to loose my fear of the common childhood disease and replaced this fear with facts about the benefits of diseases like Measles, Mumps and Rubella.I learned about why we become ill, how we can strengthen our Immune System naturally and how I could treat my family without using symptom suppressing drugs like Calpol and /of antibiotics. Learning about Real Health can be frightening in itself for many parents. We have been conditioned since childhood to believe that vaccinations and modern drugs are life saving and that without them we may become seriously ill or even die. This is enough to scare any parent and willingly have their children vaccinated or treated with antibiotics, Calpol etc. Also, we like to believe that we are been taken car of by a health system that only has our own best interest at heart and therefore we don’t need to challenge that. It is like living in a bubble. If you start questioning mainstream medicine, you have to leave the safety of this bubble and rally take responsibility for your own health. It is a very big and brave step to take. But exactly this step is what changed my views on vaccination forever and helped me deal with my fear of disease. I have developed great respect for the human body and the Immune System, equally a great respect for disease, without being blinded by fear of it.We humans are part of nature and fully integrated into its workings. If we respect nature and its laws, if we respect our body and not suppress/overload our Immune System with vaccines/drugs, then we will be empowered to learn that there is always a reason for us getting ill. We are in control over our bodies and by respecting its needs for fresh, unpolluted, wholesome food, for clean, fresh air and water, sufficient sleep and loving relationships, we can achieve health without the need of preventing and suppressing disease with drugs and/or vaccination.Let us not succumb to fear and be blinded by scare tactics that health- and government agencies use on us but instead us our power as parents to challenge these ideas of life–threatening childhood disease and replace them with good, common sense information. It can be a real liberating feeling!!! "Our ideal is not the spirituality that withdraws from life but the conquest of life by the power of the spirit." - Aurobindo. Get on board.
