Dear Greetings for peace in abidance in the commands of Almighty,While you are correct about the routes of causation ,there is still nothing wrong with pointing out the homosexual routes in so far as they pertain to petition on homosexuality.I am sure Dr.Leo is not aware of the heterosexual routes of the transmistion of virus. I am surprised about your deduction and association of Jews with all this even thinking about the connection is weird. No all the jews are rebel against the commands of God with reference to adultery, homosexuality and usury. dear Alamplease understand that this was a joke!here in the north america, gays, jews, liberals, the film industry, big business etc are often lumped in as a kind of panoply of evil, despite the fact that the many of these elements are mutually contradictorybasically, its poking fun at those who make labels, and thereby take a complex truth and separating it into a simplistic dichotomyThere is nothing obnoxious about the view of Dr.Leo as he is using his discretion to invoke the wisdom of the Indian Government. All men and women who have faith in the commands have a right to call for protection of the legislation that has a bearing on the moral development of future generations. Pious Muslims.Christians,Hindus and all with belief in God has a right to call for prohibitive legislation with reference to homosexuality.but does criminalization of a person's personal behaviour really do anything except make those behaviours subversive, and thereby enhance risk?  as we know, AIDS in gay men is pretty much a disease of risk, and any sensible government policy would be to reduce risk, because governments should also know that it cannot govern every element of a person's lifedespite the law, homosexuality exists in India, very likely in the same basic percentages in the population as it exists in other parts of the world, about 1-2% - researchers have increasingly identified homosexual behaviours in non-human populations as well, so we cannot say its not naturalin the US billions of dollars are spent fighting drug wars and incarcerating users, often for minor possession - the net result is a huge criminal underground and generations of people that have had their lives irrevocably altered, not by doing drugs per se, but by spending years in a US penitentiary, learning the ways of crime, furthering destabilizing societyin the same way, gay men fearing legal reprisals resort to visiting unhygienic venues to engage in risky behaviours with people they don't even know, spreading venereal disease and other infectious disease among the heterosexual pop'n because they cannot legally disclose their activities to anyone, even their spouses (and hence put them at risk) - sounds like a recipe for disaster to meFlaming in not the answer. Citing reference to the existence of the homosexuality in Kamasutra does not mean approval of all for the practice. In Holy Quran, there are several references for the chastisement of men who indulged in homosexulaity. My reason for not supporting permissive legal opinion is based both on faith and analysis of the history of gay movement in US. Please see my conceptual organisation at http://muhammad_mukhtar_alam.tigblog.orgKindly click the post in 2001.I am sure you would be able to see the reason more clearly.I read some of your website:There must be a change in the DSM classification , in so far, as it pertains to the present understanding of homosexuality. Pre-1966 understanding of the homosexuality must be restored. If APA persists in the present categorization of homosexuality then rest of the world must denounce APA classification related to homosexuality. An appeal to the Indian Psychological Association to demand the above.I do not agree with much of the way the APA sees the world (and the mind), but with regard to the DSM classification I see nothing inherently wrong with it.  Dear Alam, perhaps from India you might think that the gay agenda in the West is driving the break down of the family unit, but this isn't true.  This began to occur in the early 20th century well before gays had any legal status, from the impact of two world wars, and in the 1950's a meteoric rise in material status that is only now beginning to fail.  This unprecedented boom in economic status meant that people were no longer required to maintain cohesive family units as a means of financial and social support.  I suspect with the rising affluence in India and the emerging middle class that this is already happening in India, but hopefully, won't completely follow the path of complete abandonment to materialism found here in the West.  But none of this has anything to do with gays per se.Let me share with you an actual, personal experience.  I watched a certain family member grow up to be a responsible, ambitious and socially aware young man.  He volunteered his time, always did well in school, was valedictorian and on the student council, and listened to his parents dutifully.  In all respects a perfect young man.  Well, this young man, loved by all who knew him, finally came out to his parents a few years ago.  His parents were understandably shocked.  But very quickly they embraced their son and told him that they loved him for who he was.   The entire family gathered around in support of him. This certain young man had only just entered into a committed, monogamous relationship with another young man, and within a few years decided to enter into a civil union.  Although I didn't attend the ceremony, it was apparently a great time, a moving and emotional event, with all the guests in awe and appreciative of the maturity of these two young men.   Now, from time to time, I see him at family reunions, and give and his partner a warm embrace when I see them.  We talk about our lives, watch the kids play and enjoy our time.  We exchange emails, keeping abreast of family news, sharing in each others lives.  In every respect he is family and from what I can tell, supports family values.Could we imagine such a scenario if homosexuality were criminalized?  A false marriage to a woman he could not love?  Deceitful and risky homosexual liaisons in public bathrooms?  Drug abuse to quell and allay internal struggles that could not be expressed to anyone?  What scenario would you say is preferable?  For me the answer is obvious.Choose love.
