Guest guest
Dear Sir, The concern over reintroduction of DDT is valid. There is another aspect that has not been touched in the article, there is a rising awareness that DDT and other toxic pesticides could be behind the polio epidemic in humans, a disease that affects the central nervous system. The epidemic coincides with the introduction of DDT. It remains to be seen whether another epidemic will break out in Africa after DDT is reintroduced. The fact that DDT is still found in breastmilk of feeding mothers in Asia and Africa should be another deterrent. This proves that DDT is not easily eliminated from the body.
