Letter to eminent paediatricians on the vaccine controversy.

Hello friends, I received this email from a friend John McCarthy. Please note the following: Yes, vaccination programme is running riot in the country, especially in economically backward states. However, please note and circulate the following: [a] The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has the responsibility to ensure that proper data is collected as a basis for decisions on health matters. Last year [June 2005] the Ministry delegated the powers to conduct National Family Health Survey [NFHS-III] to Inetrnational Institute of Population Sciences [iIPS, Mumbai] to conduct NFHS-III. The agencies were selected in the most shoddy and unprofessional manner. This is the first time that the Ministry delegated this sort of power to this institute. More sinster is what happened later. When I asked this agency through

a petition filed under Right to Information, this agency said, " NFHS-III is not being funded by tax-payers' [public] money." Please note that NFHS-III, on the basis of which the next five years' health plan will be formulated IS NOT BEING CONDUCTED USING INDIAN TAX-PAYERS' MONEY. Who is funding this? The information I have is that the study is being financed by a consortium including UN agencies and the USAID. [c] In March 2006, the hard discs of ICMR computers, that stored critical epidemiological information on Indian population, were stolen from the ICMR Delhi office by thieves. [d] The entire western and norther India is contaminated with depleted uranium dust that will cause from this year onward explosive growth in diabetes, cancer and immune disorders. The depleted uranium contamination of India is the direct result of US bombing of Afghanistan and

Iraq. Please note, further, that the WHO has already warned that India will see the sharpest growth in diabetes. There are enough medical research reports [most were expunged in the past] that radioactive contamination is directly correlated with diabetes, cancer and immune disorders [a complete list is available from me]. [e] I suspect [and like me, many other too] that NFHS-III data will be engineered to serve the interest of big pharma companies. The Ministry of Health has done the greatest disservice to the India population by not handling NFHS-III survey directly as it used to do in the past. [f] It is now imperative that NFHS-III findings are scrapped, that another survey is conducted directly by the Ministry in a transparent manner. It is further imperative that ICMR be directed to reconstruct and rebuild lost epidemiological data base from district data as soon

as possible. [g] In the re-survey which should be done after scrapping the current NFHS-III, diseases caused by radiation fall-out should also be surveyed. This is the only way the Government of India can prepare for the calamity going to fall on Indians because of depleted uranium contamination. Please note further that Delhi, Lucknow, Bhopal, Ahmedabad...the circle of death of 1000 miles drawn from Kabul and Bagdad includes over 1 billion persons in 21 countries.
