i apologize for not picking up on the word " anal "

indeed, anal sex is definitely associated with anal cancer, but so is

smoking

the etiology is linked to HPV (same as cervical cancer), and thus

unsafe anal sex, not anal sex per se, and not homosexuality (for e.g.

lesbianism), is the culprit

 

btw, anal sex and congress between men is clearly mentioned in the

second chapter of the kama sutra, which dates back to at least the

4th century

 

while Vatsyayana himself clearly understood that his work would be

denounced by the pious and " pure " , but at the least, his work is

certainly reflective of the inherent libertine nature of Indian

culture and the indigenous history of " deviant " sexual behaviours,

even before Europeans were burning witches at the stake

ps - and FWIW no i don't practice or recommend anal sex - but its a

fact of some people's lives and what is the point in moralizing

something that will not be changed - our focus should be " harm/risk

reduction " wherever possible
