Baba Ramdev wants to market ayurvedic juices as answer to cola

 

 

New Delhi, Aug. 26 (PTI): Yoga exponent Baba Ramdev, who has been

opposing sale of carbonated drinks, today said he planned to take on

the cola giants by supplying `ayurvedic juice' abroad.

Referring to the controversy over alleged pesticide content in soft

drinks, Ramdev said " a minister giving a clean chit doesn't mean that

you are allowed to sell poison. "

Addressing a press conference here, the yoga guru, who is just back

from a six-week trip to the UK, charged the cola makers with going

back on their word on providing direct employment to 50,000 people.

Ramdev laid out his plans for taking on the cola giants and

generating employment, saying he was thinking of selling ayurvedic

juices abroad.

" We will prepare juices of bittergourd, pumpkin, tulsi leaves,

cucumber and sell them abroad. This would generate employment for our

farmers, " he said adding " Brand Baba is on a high and foreign

companies are ready to be our partners. "

Meanwhile, severely critical of the incident of idols reportedly

drinking milk, Ramdev said, " these incidents show the country in poor

light " .

" Idols drinking milk and faces appearing on a wall are superstitions

and these things are neither religious, nor scientific. These are

ways to cheat gullible people, " he said.

Referring to reports of sea water turning sweet in Mumbai, Ramdev

said, " It is a geographical phenomenon " .

Noting that there was a growing acceptance of yoga in the outside

world as " not merely an exercise but as a means to improve health and

cure diseases " , Ramdev informed that a `Patanjali Yogpith' will start

functioning in the UK from October 21.

but Sir,i doubt if you can produce the health drinks completely devoid

of pesticides in this particular world
