Guest guest
Please check up messages using following links: http://health.ayurveda/message/1530 http://health.ayurveda/message/3835 There is one more recent one. http://health.ayurveda/message/7272 If you use message search facility at ayurveda group, you will find migraine dealt with maximum by this author in his posts. The reason is simple, this author studied ayurveda after suffering severly from Migrain for 2 years and a yoga student cured it with simply salt and water!! which too is mentioned in some message in ayurveda. Some messages simply recommend drinking adequate water, not from Fridge but either earthen pot or copper pot. And heem of coriander seeds, fennel seeds and cumeen seeds is well known remedy to be tried before touching any tablets. Guest guest
Dear Rashmiji, I have consulted a local ayurvedic doctor here who said that " Cephagraine " of Charaka Pharmaceuticals is very useful in case of migraine. You must consult an ayurved near you to know more. As a pain controller I have found the following biochemic medicines very useful. 1. Magnesium Phos 6x - 4 tablets taken preferably in a tsp of warm water every 15 to 30 minutes. 2. Calcarea Phos 6x - 4 tablets every 1 - 2 hours. Both the above medicines should go on in tandem till the pain goes away entirely and the patient drops off to sleep. To aid sleep, 3. Kali Phos 6x - 6 tablets every three hours. In homeopathy, the remedy depends upon the symptoms of the migraine. Belladona 30C - Severe headache, aversion to light, eyes and face red, pain increases on lying, especially on the right side. The attack comes on suddenly. Bryonia 30C - Pain in one half of the head, specially at night, increases with least motion, bilious headache, bursting headache, vertigo, bitter vomiting. Pains begin from the front and go backwards upto the neck and inbetween shoulders. Pains are sticking and jerking in nature. One sided migraine : Spigelia 30C - Pain on the LEFT half side. It increases and decreases with the Sun, no pains after sunset. Pain travels from back to front. Other remedies for left sided migraine are: Prunus Spinosa, Platina, Pulsatilla and Silicea. Sanguinaria 30C-Sun headache on the RIGHT side. Relief from lying down and rest. Other remedies for left sided migraine are: Thuja, Lachesis, Cyclamen. For dull headache: Gelsemium 30C - Dull pain, heaviness of head, pain in temples, vertigo (head reeling). Headache during menses; China 30C : Headache accompanied with menses. There is weakness. There may be heavy flow which brings on the migraine. Here also the biochemic remedies Magnesium Phos and Calcarea Phos are extremely useful and will relieve other pains associated with menses too. Homeopathic medicines are taken in globule form, 4 to 6 globules each time (sensitive people can take one or two). They are taken on the tongue after rinsing the mouth. They can be taken every hour in case of severe pain. The medicines should be stopped/duration in between doses decreased once relief is felt. However the above is for the sake of guidance. A qualified physician in touch with the patient is the best judge.
