Dear Puneet

I have explained to you already the Bhagwat

Gita, and logic of food as jatharajni (fire of

stomach) and swabhav (guna

of Prakriti) and sankalp ( conduct of life). It is most important for me to explain

you meaning of the sacrifice of animals called

PASHU BALI before YAGYA. You will be surprised that it is error of translation.

In Atharveda and Markandeya purana, it is said

that one should sacrifice the bondages before entering

meditation. SACRIFICE THE BONDAGES is wrongly interpreted as PASHU

BALI. PASHU in Sanskrit is not meant by animals. It means bondages of any kind. For

example, mobile phones, contracts, obligation towards other persons are PASHU.

If a person is beginning to meditate, he must be free of other preoccupation.

Probably, this word PASHU is wrongly used as animal and

ignorant people took advantage of it.

[HealthyIndia] Bhagwat

Gita on the logic of food

Greetings

In chapter nine of the Sri Madbhagvat Gita, the Lord gives very clear

directions as to what can be eaten.

These verses also clearly indicate that only vegetarian products can be offered

during a yajna. Some people

translate some rig-vedic verses wrongly and claim that animal sacrifices

were performed during the vedic era.

For reference, I am quoting the english translations of the verses.

Whosoever offers Me a leaf, a flower, a

fruit, or water with devotion; I accept and eat the offering of devotion by the

pure-hearted. (9.26)

O Arjuna, whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer as oblation to

the sacred fire, whatever charity you give, whatever austerity you perform, do

all that as an offering unto Me. (See also 12.10, 18.46) (9.27)

Regards

Puneet
