The issue is not to look for an alternative to mercury in vaccines but to look for an alternative to vaccines themselves. That means loking after the earth and all the systems therein, air, water, soil. Then the need to protect livelihood resources. Soon, sports tourism will be the next big thing. Land sharks are already on to this. Thus more and more land, rivers, forests, fields will be grabbed. The people thus ousted will live in fear and despair. Their immune systems forever compromised. We need only look at the Adivasis displaced by Sardar Sarovar, or the Kashmiri Pandits, for example. Coca Cola may be banned fro Kerala, but who will compensate the villagers of Plachimada for the enormous loss of livelihood resources? With pesticides and GMOs what sort of nourishing food can even the well-off look forward to? Engagement with a satisfying job, good social relations, access to art, culture, nature - these build

immunity.What does Indian philosophy tell us? Express and engage creatively with all 9 rasas --- anger, digust, bravery, parental love, love for a partner, etc. Also, we have 6 seasons, 3 doshas, etc. We need to eat and exercise appropriately. By doing so we build immunity. We need to also stress sanitation and hygiene.
