Now let me come to the issues you have raised; Autism was a puzzle to the lay persons and the medical community alike till someone (I don't remember exactly who) pointed out that the symptoms were very alike to mercury poisoning. So the parents then conducted heavy metal tests on their infants and found out that they had traces of mercury in their hair, nail and urine samples. Now came the question of the source of the mercury. Towards the late 90s, it came to the knowledge of the public that Thimerosal, a vaccine ingredient and a serum decontaminant, was 49.6% ethylmercury. It was also revealed that mercury was used in the vaccine manufacturing process also. It was also noted

that by the time the children got 24 shots, the quantity of mercury injected into them was very high even as per EPA standards for food and environment. When the parents made public their apprehensions, the scientific community rejected the claim outright without any effort to find out whether the allegation was true. Worse doctors were intimated for airing their own apprehensions. The MMR link was reinforced when a British doctor, Dr Wakefield, who was studying autistic children found the measles virus in their guts. Though he made a totally acceptable study, the scientific community again reacted nervously and forced the Lancet magazine to withdraw the paper citing that the research was funded by a group which sympathised with the claims of the parents of autistic children. This was really funny considering that in 100% cases, the drug studies are funded by the drug manufacturers

themselves, surely an "interested party". Then came the bombshell when correspondence among vaccine scientists regarding their apprehensions about mercury in vaccines was leaked. It was then learnt that the mercury debate was fairly ancient and many doctors had tried to point out the dangers. In fact vaccine danger was discussed in the scientific community since 1909. Thimerosal was introduced in 1930 and its dangers began to be discussed since 1938. That is, the public was kept in the dark for almost a century. The American public then petitioned the politicians of their States to ban the mercury. Seven States have since banned it whereas 14 other states have already lined up the required legislation for the ban. Faced with the pressure the CDC then hurriedly asked the vaccine manufacturers to stop the use of mercury WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. Now the question is, if mercury in

vaccines is not dangerous then why the urgency? It is another thing that mercury continues to be a vaccine component in the US and the vaccine industry is now immune to law suits should the government wish to forcibly vaccinate its population in case of any epidemic. The entire vaccine industry was put in a quandary because preparing vaccines without mercury was not viable due to two reasons. The mercury is essential for the manufacturing process as well as a serum decontaminant. More so in third world countries where large vaccine vials are used. Eliminating mercury created two problems, the vaccine cost would almost treble and the substitute was in many cases, as pointed out by Indian doctors, even worse than mercury. The vaccine manufacturers thus stood to loose their entire third world market, a scenario that foretold closure. Now what is the truth? Most probably, as guessed by vaccine activists in the

US, 1. Vaccines had no role to play in curbing epidemics. (charts presented by activists) 2. Without vaccines there is every possibility that the incidence of disease would decrease, as pointed out by Dan Olmstead, Senior Editor of the UPI. 3. Mercury is not the only dangerous element in vaccines.(Dr Mark Sircus, MD) 4. The entire medical industry grew up on the apparent success of the vaccine industry and therefore there would be a great furore if this element was found faulty. (Obvious to all) 5. Any acknowledgement of vaccine danger would cause an avalanche of legal suits against the vaccine industry, having the power to wipe out its entire capital base. The recent award of $43.6 million to a vaccine damaged child in the US is a case in point. 6. Parents of vaccine damaged children have already called for Nuremberg style trials for the CDC officials who have allowed this monstrosity on their children. Therefore the safe way out is to continue with the arguments that vaccines are safe and claim that "vested interests" and "child haters" are out to malign the vaccination process that seeks to "protect children" and "save their lives". All the above is common knowledge and can be verified by a google search with the words, "Vaccine dangers". Those who are members of US and UK based autism groups and receive newsletters from the NVIC and TAAP will already be knowing this.
