Guest guest
I'm touched.. My two minutes of silence ended two minutes back. And what a phenomenon it was.. For a bit, I thought, the city will not stop for anyone and anything.. The first siren went off, and we all stood to attention, under our office building, at least a hundred people - those passing us started freaking out.. The traffic still moved, honking non-stop, asking for way to get going. Then, all of a sudden, when we all imagined it to be over, the traffic stood still.. Right in the middle of the road, the engines died, the people shut up, the announcements at CST station abruptly cut off, trains still moved on schedule though.. But not a word was spoken. It was like the rhythm had died, the music had died. The city that wouldn't let blast stop its movement, respectfully, admirably and gracefully, stood up in silence to repect the victims of an unfair and unfortunate incident.. this is my city that never fails to surprise me.. and to this I say - Salaam Mumbai Get on board.
