Why holistic healers are against modern medicine?

Dear Dr Yadu, I would like to clear your views on certain facts: 1. We are not standing on the shoulders of our ancestors. We have totally gone off on a tangent. Are we following their theories of the idiosyncracies of the human body-mind-emotion system and strengthening the immune system? No, we prepare to fight the bacteria and viruses which are the culprits in only a few cases, as per both virologists as well as genetic engineers. "Carpet bombing" the body is the idea of cure of the modern doctors. 2. The major herbal remedy manufacturers in India now have state of the art manufacturing and testing facilities. They are also now depending more and more on their own gardens. Therefore the chances of error are very slim. Slimmer than the sloppy controls in pharmaceutical industry where medicines of different batches give different results what to talk of different

manufacturers. The govt employed quality control inspectors prefer to return from the CEOs office rather than inspecting the plants for reasons best known to them. 3. The issue of heavy metals has been resolved by a test on mice. The metals are used as bhasmas or processed ash. The tests on mice, there have been two, have proved that the metal bhasmas are flushed out and not accumulated in the cells, fat or tissues. Now another test on a non mice species is to be conducted. The results of the test are now with the Health Ministry and will be declared soon. Can we say the same thing about heavy metals used in modern medicine? The recent California study has once again proved that these heavy metals used in vaccines, eye solutions, dental amalgams, medical apparatus, and serum based medications concentrate in the fat cells of the brain and seriously affect the nervous system. 4. There is not a single recorded case of any poisoning for any ayurvedic preparation used from an accredited manufacturer. 5. It is modern medicine that is behind both the destruction of the liver and the kidneys. Chemicals are unnatural to the body and are very difficult to flush out. As for homeopathic medicines destroying the kidney, the charge is wild as these medicines have no material content, the reason why the mainstream medicos doubt that homeopathy works. To claim that they are placebos and again charge them with damaging the organs is absurd. 6. Again is arsenic used in its raw form in ayurveda? But modern medicine uses mercury, aluminium, sulphur, and a host of other extremely dangerous toxins almost in their raw form. Why don't the doctors warn the public about their use? 7. If ayurveda and homeopathy is to be evaluated then it should be done. Who is preventing

that? But these sciences should be evaluated as per their own holistic standards and by qualified professionals from their own fields and not under the reductionist principles of allopathy and by the "scientific" doctors. I have already suggested to the government that modern medicine should be evaluated as per holistic standards and by a panel of qualified homeopaths, ayurveds and unani doctors. Let us see what happens to my suggestion. Perhaps the main evaluators are the patients themselves, like the consumers in any other industry, and they are now turning away from modern medicine in hoardes. No amount of scientific argument will convince a sick person that he is "cured" when he feels worse after the treatment. The proponents of modern medicine should correct their own glaring errors before accusing others. The whole of the media is now full of warnings that herbs can be

dangerous. If herbs can be so dangerous then what about the chemical toxins that are called modern medicines? If chemicals in the environment can be so dangerous then why not the chemicals being pushed into our own bodies? It is always better to study man as a whole and use natural methods and remedies. Had we followed this the entire world would not have been as sick as it is today. Modern medicine has had its monopoly in India since the last 70 to 80 years, can we say that our health is better than our ancestors? Rather we are seeing epidemics of autoimmune disorders. The doctors say genetic factors are involved. We are aghast as at no time in recorded history has there been any epidemic of genetic disorders. What is causing this epidemic? It is time to find out.
