Guest guest
Dear Group, Like all other studies, this study too has its inherent share of ups and downs. First of all such studies are conducted without considering individual characteristics and family history. Each individual is different. Holistic healing methods tend to divide them broadly for the purpose of treatment, modern medicine has a one-size-fit-all approach which is very primitive, to say the least. Sperm quality and count depend on many factors. They may be general state of health, mood, climate, time of the day, consumption of addictive substances, frequency of sex, quality of food, alkanity and acidity of the body, emotional health, etc. As per ayurveda, the Indian system of healing, the sperm cycle in men is supposed to coincide with the ovulation cycle of women. Like women ovulate once a month, a man too peaks once a month. It takes approximately 25 to 32 days for a man to replenish himself fully after a sexual act. Increased frequency of sex is permitted only in winter, in other months it tells upon the health of the person. It also advocates only the night as the time for sex. Men and women vary in terms of sexual needs. While women may gain energy from the sexual act, men are often starved of vital minerals and vitamins as these are diverted to form sperms. The lethargy and lack of energy that men face after a few years of marriage or active sexual life is due to this factor. Calcium, Selenium, Phosphorous etc are the vital minerals that go towards forming the sperm. All these are very essential for other energy needs too. No wonder men become couch potatoes earning the ire of their wives. Then there is the much debated fact that the spermatic fluid is a part of the cerbro spinal fluid. The truth of this is very obvious as men often feel disoriented and emotionally foul after they exhaust themselves sexually. Sex is a necessary part of life and ayurveda encourages a healthy sexual life within a marriage, but warns sick individuals to be cautious and lead a restrained life without overtaxing the body.
