To ALL,Attached is an in-depth assessment of the article, "Beyond the headlines: Link still claimed between thimerosal and autism," written by Kathleen Phalen Tomaselli, a contributing writer, and published by the American Medical Association in its American Medical News newspaper at:http://www.ama-assn.org/amednews/site/free/feature.htmon 19 June 2006, which I visited as a part of my research in this area on 22 June 2006.The references have been provided so that all can verify the scientific validity of the review remarks presented.Hopefully, after reviewing this rebuttal, the American Medical Association and otherswill stop reporting information (including "opinion" pieces) on the health-critical subject of the KNOWING mercury poisoning of American children and adults through the Thimerosal added to vaccines

and other drugs as a preservative WITHOUT proof of safety, even though such proof has been required by statute (Title 21 of the United States Code [21 U.S.C.] at Section 351(a)(2)(B)) since 1962 and, for vaccines, by law (Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations [21 CFR] at Section 610.15(a)) since 1973.In addition to the now-established link between Thimerosal in vaccines and neurodevelopmental and behaviorial disorders, there is an increasing body of evidence that Thimerosal in drugs is probably a significant contributing factor to the EPIDEMIC RISE in: a. childhood asthma (from <1 in 500 before Thimerosal to as many as 1 on 4 children today), b. type 2 diabetes (from a disease that once was called "adult onset diabetes" because no children had it to "type 2 diabetes" because >1 in 100 children has it is developing this disease),

c. obesity, d. MS, e. certain cancers, and f. other autoimmune diseases of all kinds including food allergies (e.g., nut allergies in countries where the main food stuffs include nut-derived products, esp. peanut allergies) as well as g. an increase in miscarriages and birth defects when women are given Thimerosal- preserved drug products during pregnancy (Rho(D) products up to 2002 and the Thimerosal-preserved flu shot in the 21st century EVEN THOUGH Thimerosal is a known human teratogen at levels, based on animal studies, below 1 ppm (1 microgram per gram) in the fetus and a Thimerosal-preserved flu shot adds 25 micrograms of Thimerosal-derived mercury that is known to cross the placental barrier and concentrate in the fetus such that as much as, or more than, 80% of the dose of Thimerosal mercury (20 micrograms

of mercury) can end up in the fetus (which, depending upon the stage in fetal develop-ment when the shot is administered, may weigh less than 10 grams) and, for the killed-virus Thimerosal-preserved influenza vaccines, the requisite multi-genarational reproductive toxicity studies have NOT ever been conducted!So, for those who ask the question, why would the "healthcare establishment" knowingly mercury poison American children, the answers seem obvious -- to: a. Drastically INCREASE the patient pool and b. PROFIT from treating the EPIDEMIC INCREASES in diseases they knew, should have known, and were responsible for knowing that the continued sub-acute mercury poisoning of American children and Americans of all ages (e.g., Alzheimer's) would bring.They knew, or should have known, because the prior claimed-to-be-safe BUT not proven safe,

inorganic mercury compound, Calomel (mercurous chloride), used in Calomel-laced baby teething powders from the late 1800s to the mid-20th century in the United States had already shown the "healthcare establishment," who refused to identify the harm observed from these Calomel-laced (containing,in sime cases, more than 25% Calomel by weight) teething powders as the mercury poisoning, which it so obviously was, and which, for those babies who survived the mercury poisoning by the Calomel (hidden behind medicine's diagnosis/labeling as "Pink Disease" and "Acrodynia," which were also, coincidentially, "causeless diseases") caused long-lasting childhood mercury poisoning effects that increased the levels (incidence rates) in certain diseases and, in some cases, elevated thedisease incidence rate from "rare" to "epidemic" (e.g., stomach cancer in the early 1900s through the 1970s).When, because of an increasing public outcry and growing public outrage,

Calomel-laced teething powders were pulled from the "medicines" market (in the 1940s in the US), "Pink Disease" quietly disappeared and, a few decades later,"stomach cancer" again became a "rare" form of cancer.However, having seen the increase in business that Calomel-based mercury poisoning had provided, the "healthcare establishment "discovered" organic mercury compounds and, without proof of SAFETY or EFFECTIVENESS, then began marketing them as "antiseptics" and, in biological products (like sera and vaccines), as "preservatives."You need to ask yourself, except for the BENEFITS every facet of the "healthcare establishment" has received and is receving, why would the "healthcare establishment" ignore the published studies (from the 1930s onwards) that Thimerosal was NEITHER SAFE NOR EFFECTIVE for use as an antiseptic or biologicalsolution preservative, continue to push the uses of Thimerosal, and lobby the government agencies and elected

officials NOT to require rigorous proof of safety and effectiveness, and ...?Why would the "healthcare establishment" CLAIM to have removed Thimerosal from childhood vaccines in the US when they only reduced the level in somevaccines and then, even though the studies show that it is NOT effective, ADDED the Thimerosal-preserved influenza vaccine to the childhood vaccination schedule for children 6 month to 23 months of age in December of 2003 and mandate not one but two doses for the first injection (thereby assuring a 25-micro-gram dose from Thimerosal in those children who were vaccinated with a Thimerosal-preserved influenza vaccine)to restore the level of mercury-poisoning inchildren to more than the level it was in the early 1980s when they extended the vaccine recommendation to older children?Why, since Thimerosal is a proven human teratogen at levels below 1 ppm, were the Thimerosal-preserved flu vaccines ADDED to the recommended

vaccination schedule for pregnant women without requiring any reproductive toxicity studies be conducted?The ONLY obvious answer seems to be that, blinded by the love of money, the multonational "healthcare establishment" who now "controls" our health choiceshas apparently elected to: a. Sacrifice the health of the American public to increase their profits,b. Outsource clinical trails to competive for- profit CROs who need to keep their cusutomers happy -- this assuring more favorable outcomes for their clinical trials, c. Buy off key government officials, elected and appointed, and key academics and medical practitioners to increase their control on "healthcare" and reduce the oversight by the FDA, andd. Seduce the medical journals and the "free press" with with tens of billions of dollars for "reprints" and "advertising."In a world where the
