Guest guest
Dear Family, We are seventy strong now with the entry of Soaring Hawk. Seventy translates to seven which, as per numerology, is a complete number. Spiritually seven means God who is perfect as against six which signifies man who is one step away from God and is incomplete. I will once again request all members to contribute their might. Though this group appears small it harbours the best of Indian brains that the internet has to offer. It also has members who spread the posts far and wide to all parts of the globe. Dissident views too are most welcome so long as there are no personal attacks. Criticism should be a part of every process. We are already seeing what lack of and intolerance to criticism has done to medicine. Regards, Jagannath.
Guest guest
Congratulations Jagannath, you are truly an inspiration to us. You have reminded me deeply how much I love India and all things Indian. But you have also introduced me to a modern India that I do not know, and fortunately do not have to meet day to day as you all do. I am still back in the days before the advent of allopathy. I remember when I was a child still arguing with my grandmother's Indian Dr on the pros and cons of Digoxin - and now there are many many Indian Drs world wide treating westerners with no consideration of their own true heritage, so if we can fight allopathy in India then we lessen the karma of allopathy world-wide, and encourage again the potential but perhaps forgotten discipline of true Ayurveda, which may one day be needed when belief in allopathy dies in the west. Guest guest
Dear Jane, The table is turning. Now many Universities all over the world are conducting short term courses in various what they call " complementary " healing methods. This includes ayurveda, homeopathy, spiritual healing, herbal medicine, reflexology, energy healing etc. These courses are availed of by mainstream doctors. What they learn in that short period I cannot say but it sure gives them the authority to pose as " experts " in these systems. It is another thing how they will USE the knowledge. After doing a long term course in reductionist medicine and practicing it can one reset the mind to grasp holistic concepts? I guess not. There are many things in holistic medicine that require intuition, a scientific mind will rebel against taking chances. Todays medicine is more about using diagnostic kits than using the mind.
