Guest guest
Dear Dr Bhate, I admit I contribute articles reflecting the mood outside of India. But though I have created the group, I have already specified in one of the earliest posts that this group belongs to all of us. I would ask for support from all the members to contribute their might so that we may shift from mere reporting to attending to the problems of individual members. Right now the group has more professionals than patients. If we can help with disease treatment we can attract more members as well as be more useful. I study the international scene because what happens in USA or Europe today will happen in India tomorrow. So I am always forewarned and am able to warn the concerned officials of what is coming. However sadly I have been informed by the international agencies like GMWatch and Greenpeace that many of the officials I write to have personal stakes in the politics of disease and the entry of GM produce. But I never loose hope, because India is a country which is protected by divine forces. Perhaps the phase we are going through is a correctional phase where we come to realise the consequences of our egoistic actions. When things get out of hand, the divine will intervene as promised in the Gita. We are already seeing this phenomenon reflected in the efforts of Swami Ramdev. Recently he has been threatened with grave consequences because of his efforts to revive the health of his countrymen. His achievements are pinching the profits of both the drug as well as the fast food industry. Perhaps it is also pinching the government through reduced taxes and maybe also reduced illegal gratifications. It is no secret that our electorate fight elections and prosper on MNC funds. We really live in a sick society. Guest guest
Your post reminded me that here too we follow the US - nursing training was always in the hospitals - which gave a fantastic view of how things work in reality - from technical procedures to everyday caring for the patients, to arranging their flowers! - then the US took nursing training into the university and out of the hospital - this left insufficient staff to care for the patients, the student nurses were no longer there and raised the running costs enormously - as all hospital nurses were paid normal and not student wages. The Uni. students arrived back in the hospital looking down on the old hospital trained staff but unable to perform the tasks required - so the gap continued - this is only one aspect of the deterioration of the role of the nurse in hospitals - back in the US realising the great disadvantages of this system - I understand they are slowly reverting to the old system - even while we were moving into the prestige of our Uni. graduates, the US was moving right away from that approach - the same with medicine - what fails in the US today - what kills their citizens - is here to stay and be fought against - yep - Vioxx - whatever the next killer might be - so what we need to envisage is that India might show the way by encouraging the true healers, the Ayurvedists, the Homeopaths to inspire the population to know and trust that healing is possible - so that there is a shunning of allopathy and a huge move back to what works, what saves and what heals - not just resignedly going along with allopathy because it might be the "in" thing to do - and the ghost of Gandhi would surely smile on us all? Guest guest
Perhaps Jag you could encourage members who post the shocking news from the allopathic disasters that plague us to find something equally positive and reassuring so that we see a better balance of good as well as the bad and the ugly represented on the list? That way we will train ourselves to expect good as well as acknowledging medicines failures? Guest guest
Dear friends This group is blessed with Rishi's of modern time. Rishi in Sanskrit means those engaged in research of wholistic ways of living. After a Rishi reaches at a state of knowledge, he/she becomes speechless and then is called Muni. This civilization is 'controlled' by Rakchhas and their ways of 'protection' is 'control'. Problems (ailing civilization) are a business opportunity for the Rackchhas. For 'economic growth', governments have to necessarily invest more on production of diseases and then provide investments for creating modern technology and regulations, and produce economic opportunity at the cost of it. In Mahabharata, Abhimanyu was victim of the economic system that was hard to break. In India, we are trying to find solution for which there is no disease, and then we import the disease as well. Wholistic ways of living truly is a luxury. Gone are the days when people swim, and bathe in rivers/ponds. River was once called Ganga maiya (mother) because it treated all lives equal, and none had any rights of ownership over it, and yet beneficial and cared by all. Now we are proud owner of the bath rooms. Bath room is not wholistic, and river is wholistic. Rivers are 'living infrastructure' and coexist with natural universe viz, mountain, trees, soil etc... Bath room is dead infrastructure and its owners created havoc with rivers, and rivers are abandoned. A whole is more than the sum of the parts. That means, a river is more than the sum of all bath rooms. Now is a problem of water and instead of dismantling bath rooms, they will further stop rivers to use its energy converted to electricity for drawing water deep from the earth. Over a period, generation of bath room owners will be called rich and those found openly bathing in rivers with their cattle will be called poor tribal. This is difference between wholistic and non-wholistic lives. Human health is treated by owners of the 'classified' knowledge and take pride it. Doctors are more commercial than truly service. The pressure of economic investments in R & D, equipments and buildings requires a certain amount of occupancy in hospitals, to be run as profitable venture. This narrow mindedness is not following wholistic structure of the nature. Every human being is a complete person. He must only believe in it. People are handicap by the mind, and never use it. If a child applies turmeric powder when there is a cut on skin, and it gets cure, he/she will never forget it. These types of health care are highly effective. We have 'garuchi' (tinospora cardifolia) plant in our house and by looking at her we feel a sense of warmth and security. Similarly, Tulasi. People should have friendship with these plants and they will teach what they can do. It is very interesting that Sri Tulasi Das means (servant of Tulasi). In the time of sick people, people are owners of Tulasi and not be its Das. This group should exchange experiences of heathy living, and purpose of wholistic living that can sustain health care without price.
