NATUROPATHY (Nature nourishes you, cares for you and heals you) http://www.excelyoga.com/naturopathy/naturhome.htm “Naturopathy” or “nature Cure” is a lesser-known term in the field of medicine though it is one of the ancient systems of medicine. In the recent past, there is lot of development in a alternative systems of medicine such as Ayurveds, Unaani, Sidha, Naturopathy, Yoga, Acupressure, Acupuncture, Reiki, Pravayik healing and so as. In 1996 when one of my friends advised & encouraged me to join a Diploma Course in Naturopathy in an Institute affiliated to All India Nature Cure Federation, I was totally unaware about the Naturopathy. I did not know as to how this system works and in what way this is useful to a common man. Even after studying the

naturopathy for three year I could not develop faith in this system. One day one of my neighbors approached me complaining of fever for the last six days and sought my advice. I had read that drinking lemon juice in hot water works like enema and therefore advised him to take lemon juice in hot water and thereafter drink as many glasses of cold water he could drink. He did as I had advised. After some time he had profuse urination and the fever was gone. The incident gave me boost, to practice the various theories of naturopathy I had studied. The other theory of naturopathy, which drew my attention in treatment of diseases, is ‘Rama-Nama’ or reciting the name of the Almighty God according to the belief of one’s spiritual faith. This I have found tremendous ability to cure diseases. Two years ago one lady came me seeking remedy for chronic headache of which she was suffering of the last many years, I advised her some herbal home remedies. After 15 days she did not complain of headache but was still disturbed in her mind. I advice her to recite a small prayer daily. This not only cured her illness but also restored her the peace of mind. It is said that health means complete harmony of mind body and soul. When the trio (mind, body & soul)

works in complete harmony, the person is not only healthy but enjoys the peace of mind. Any disharmony among mind, body and soul causes disease and causes ill health. Prayer unites with the supreme creator. Naturopathy is related to the life style of individuals. Bad habits, excesses and sedentary dietary habits generate toxins in our body, which are the causes of disease. Unless toxins/morbid matters are expelled from the body, one cannot be free from diseases. Leading and living a life as per nature cure philosophy prevents us from many diseases. Each system of medicine has its set principles. Naturopathy is a system of healing science, which stimulates the body’s power to regain health with natural elements-Earth, water, Air, Fire and Ether. The Homeopathy is based on psora syphilis, and psychosis and the Ayurveda has ‘Kafa’ ‘Vata’ & ‘Pita’. No one system is complete and therefore each system is to be considered as complementary to each other. There

are number or websites which will give your information about theory & practices in Naturopathy but our aim is to develop confidence of viewers in this system of medicine, In a country like India having 100 million population, each system of medicine plays a vital roles in the well being of its various segments of society. In naturopathy treatment is possible with water, earth and colour which are easily available anywhere. Naturopathy system together with yoga is not only a preventive system but it can restore your health without much cost. Remember (1) Nature is the greatest healer. (2) Fasting and massage has curative effect. (3) Naturopathy is a drugless system of medicine. (4) Basic cause of disease is not bacteria but toxins. (5) Naturopathy treats the patient and not disease. (6) Food is medicine. Here is my own experience of reciting the name of the

Lord (as per one's own belief or choice) that has

cured me of madnesslike disease.

In 1962, I had an acute attack of mumps that had made

my body temperature to shoot up to 105 degrees F

affecting my brain adversely.

On the ensuing Mahashivaratri night, I sat down on a

wooden stool before my favourite idol of Lord Shiva

and started meditation chanting the good Lord's name

as per my 'ishta mantra'. When I was too deep in

meditation, I got a sudden jolt like thing that made

me tremble. The world around me was rocking. I

thought, there was something terribly wrong with me.

So I went out, looked at my neighbour's house and

looked at other things and every thing waafine. But it

was a very strange experience. From next day onwards,

I started getting well by and by, as if the

temperature of my brain was coming down to normal bit

by bit day by day. And, finally, that made my brain

sharper than ever before. Eversince that experience,

during my silence I often automatically start chanting

that very ishta mantra with great feeling of almness,

coolness and concentration.Amen
