Dear __________, The uproar over GM food is now making many business houses scale down their operations. You may be aware how Monsanto was dropped like a hot potato by Pfizer a few years back. But many companies are trying to push through their produce taking advantage of lax laws and greed of politicians. Talking of the "scientific community", not all are scientific. They want to go forward despite warnings. Do you know what genetic engineering has been nicknamed in scientific circles? It is known as " the gallery of horrors". You may also know how America tried to foist off the GM maize crop it did not want on Zambia. Zambia did not want it either and that landed the UN in a spot of trouble as the crop was offered under one of its aid schemes. Most of the GM crop in America is sold to MNC food giants who use it in their products. It has come to

light that GM Soya fluor and GM Canola oil has caused adverse reactions leading to public uproar in America and European countries. In India we are blissfully consuming our "imported" food, oils, pasta and sauces unaware of what dangers lie hidden. Recently the Lancet magazine has revealed that; 1. 50% of the "research articles" published in scientific magazines had dubious data behind it. Meaning, they are fake. 2. Almost all research is "funded". That is, the company that profits from a good report funds the research. You can well imagine what the result will be. 3. Most articles were "ghost written". That is, the articles are not written by the authors who only lend their name to it. The recent stem cell "fraud" controversy was also due to a ghost written article. From the above it is obvious how protected we are

from dangers due to scientific misadventures. If science was so concerned about us then secret genetic trials on humans leading to 675 "damages" and seven deaths upto 2003 would not have taken place. God alone knows how many such secret trials are going on and in which countries; in which prisons and hospitals. Recently, from the nine "success cases" of genetically "treated" individuals, one has died due to an unknown cancer. The scientists have admitted that the remaining eight too may be in danger. Obviously the "scientists" have their foot on the accelarator even as they know that no brakes exist. The scientists are human beings too and corruption may have gripped the community just as any other. Moreover genetic drugs and genetic vaccines are already out in the market for some time. What are our "scientists" doing to prevent their use? You have yourself confessed that genetic research and study is not yet

complete, then what are these drugs and vaccines doing in the market? And if, by any chance, such trials are already going on in India, can we really know? We trust the medical community too much for comfort. Dear __________,

The uproar over GM food is now making many business houses scale down their

operations. You may be aware how Monsanto was dropped like a hot potato by

Pfizer a few years back. But many companies are trying to push through their

produce taking advantage of lax laws and greed of politicians.

Talking of the " scientific community " , not all are scientific. They want to go

forward despite warnings. Do you know what genetic engineering has been

nicknamed in scientific circles? It is known as " the gallery of horrors " .

You may also know how America tried to foist off the GM maize crop it did not

want on Zambia. Zambia did not want it either and that landed the UN in a spot

of trouble as the crop was offered under one of its aid schemes. Most of the GM

crop in America is sold to MNC food giants who use it in their products. It has

come to light that GM Soya fluor and GM Canola oil has caused adverse reactions

leading to public uproar in America and European countries. In India we are

blissfully consuming our " imported " food, oils, pasta and sauces unaware of what

dangers lie hidden.

Recently the Lancet magazine has revealed that;

1. 50% of the " research articles " published in scientific magazines had

dubious data behind it. Meaning, they are fake.

2. Almost all research is " funded " . That is, the company that profits from a

good report funds the research. You can well imagine what the result will be.

3. Most articles were " ghost written " . That is, the articles are not written

by the authors who only lend their name to it. The recent stem cell " fraud "

controversy was also due to a ghost written article.

From the above it is obvious how protected we are from dangers due to

scientific misadventures. If science was so concerned about us then secret

genetic trials on humans leading to 675 " damages " and seven deaths upto 2003

would not have taken place. God alone knows how many such secret trials are

going on and in which countries; in which prisons and hospitals. Recently, from

the nine " success cases " of genetically " treated " individuals, one has died due

to an unknown cancer. The scientists have admitted that the remaining eight too

may be in danger. Obviously the " scientists " have their foot on the accelarator

even as they know that no brakes exist. The scientists are human beings too and

corruption may have gripped the community just as any other.

Moreover genetic drugs and genetic vaccines are already out in the market for

some time. What are our " scientists " doing to prevent their use? You have

yourself confessed that genetic research and study is not yet complete, then

what are these drugs and vaccines doing in the market?

And if, by any chance, such trials are already going on in India, can we

really know? We trust the medical community too much for comfort.

Regards,

Jagannath.
