Cancer is Curable

While there can be debate on what is " CURE " , author

expects that a person, if he can live happily with most

of his functions for a normal life span, can be called cured. There

are many who know they have dormant

tumors in their body, which trouble them no more. Many

have benign tumors, which stay in the body till death,

and give pain signal only when pressed. What is

health and what is disease, best definition is

provided by ayurveda:

Balanced Doshas (humours), healthy Agni, a good state of tissues and

their metabolic end- products lead to a balanced state of the senses,

mind and spirit, all of which lead to health. If such a state is

obtained, person can be said to be cured, whether tumor left the

body, or remained in defeated state.

True ayurvedists are always ready to embrace anything that is going

to cure their patients. Especially if it is " no medicine " approach

or " home remedy " .

India is a country full of miracles, mysticism. Many patients with

chronic diseases crossed the peak of their disease and slowly

recovered, after some saint gave them some ashes or some herb.

Traditionally, ayurveda was being practiced mostly by Vaidyas and

spiritual Gurus. After Baba Ramdev episode, Government started

thinking to deal with such miracle cures in a tough way. It may be

recalled that this author introduced Baba Ramdev revolution for the

first time on ayurveda. Author never thought such miracles were

possible in west, a predominantly science driven culture. A strange

conclusion however which emerges by recent research that if doctors in

the US go on strike, the death rate should come down. This is already

pointed out in several messages on iatrogenic diseases on many lists

including this.

Alternative health guru Dr Larry Dossey often cites this phenomenon

as evidence of rampant iatrogenesis (death by doctoring), but

mounting evidence suggests that there could be another reason . . .

Cases of spontaneous remission - where serious, often fatal illnesses

cure themselves with no obvious external or medical intervention -

have been so widely documented to suggest that they are not as rare

as we are led to believe by the medical establishment.

Indeed, one very recent case reported by scientists at the University

of Nevada cites the example of a 78-year-old man with malignant

fibrous histiocytoma and multiple lesions in both lungs. Following

the diagnosis, he declined conventional chemotherapy and chose

nutritional treatment instead. He increased his intake of omega-3

fats (fish and algae oils) high in DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA

(eicosapentaenoic acid) to about 15 g/day and lowered his intake of

omega-6s (found in nuts, seeds and plant oils such as corn, soy and

safflower).

Remarkably, CT scans and chest X-rays revealed

a slow but steady decrease in the size and number of tumour nodules -

with no side-effects - and he remains free of symptoms today (Nutr

Cancer, 2005;52: 121;9).

Contrast this with:

their teenage daughter, and force her through chemotherapy against

her will

The untapped power of self-repair (SR)

Caryle Hirschberg and the late Brendan O'Regan spent 15 years

documenting nearly 2,000 cases of spontaneous remission. This work

also reveals the league table of spontaneous remissions by disease

group.

Cancer made up 74 per cent of these cases, but a wide range of other

potentially fatal diseases also mysteriously 'remitted'.

Author has met few people who, having been declared terminal cases,

are very much alive and healthy many years later. One case (liver

cancer) is mentioned on ayurveda.

The medical evidence that can't be ignored:

Most orthodox cancer treatments are doled out on the assumptions that

cancer is: a) always aggressive and life-threatening; and b) that it

won't get better on its own. Are these seemingly basic assumptions

sound?

A famous letter to The Lancet dared to suggest that a particular form

of breast cancer - ductal carcinoma in situ - may simply burn itself

out in time.

The authors noted that a local regression (in other words,

spontaneous healing) of this relatively mild form of cancer was first

described 70 years ago and has also been noted in some textbooks, but

has otherwise been largely ignored by the medical profession.

Because of modern medicine's inability to distinguish between the

life-threatening and non-threatening cancers, patients with a

positive outlook often given the full force of surgery, irradiation

and drugs for cancers that might not have been a threat to their

lives in the first place.

So, can spontaneous remission be initiated? And can we influence it?

Several cases presented with live patient in front of TV camera at

Ramdev Maharaj Yoga training camps do suggest such a possibility. In

last one year or so, patients visiting this author tell the exercises

suggested by Ramdev Baba adopted by them, so that medicine can be

reduced. Author himself has seen that a diabetic could reduce his

daily insulin from 40 units to 6 units/alternate day,

The sheer volume of spontaneous remissions shows that self-repair and

renewal is natural to the human body. These are not miracles. Most

cases seem to take place

after the patient has made a major psychological shift to recreate a

life that is engaging and purposeful. Most people, this would

suggest, get ill because they've lost all hope of life ever being

good. A blood cancer patient after showing consistent improvement for

12 months, showed deterioration for next two months when her son went

away for further higher education. Linking this with the suddent down

turn in health, author requested the sons to spend some time

alternately at home, so that mother enjoyed their presence without

their education suffering much. She recovered from her loss of

appetite, nausea, migraine within a week itself.

Letting go of long-term suppression of negative emotions such as fear

can also trigger an Spontaneous Remission. Psychotherapist/ physician

Dr Lawrence LeShan had a 32-year-old male patient with a rapidly

growing tumour in his neck and throat. Before undergoing surgery to

remove it, he was seen by a psychotherapist who discovered that the

patient was repressing a terrible childhood trauma.

The therapist encouraged him to relive the original experience, and

he 'recounted it in detail, weeping and trembling'. Immediately after

this 'release', the tumour started to shrink. Within four hours, he

was able to eat for the first time in a week. Within four days, the

tumour had completely disappeared. The astonished surgeon in charge

of his case cancelled the operation (Am J Psychother, 1958; 12:

723;34).

The simple logic is that most chronic conditions are exacerbated by

stress, stress generates toxic chemicals in brain and brain regulates

most events in body. While it was felt 15 years ago that brain cells

do not regenerate, at least a few cases treated by alternative

medicine, and mild cases of paralysis stroke regaining almost 90%

previous functions if patient was young enough do suggest otherwise.

Today, even modern medicine is able to tackle mild cases of paralysis

stroke. This means 'growth' is the mantra of the body, the rate may

differ from cell to cell. While first breath is life, only last

breath is death. One can revive or regenerate desirable cells,

provided he canbreath " life into the using positive energy.

Interchangeability of mass and energy invented by Einstein should

govern this, for science minset readers.

The link between cancerlike chronic diseases and psychological trauma

has been extensively researched by Dr Hamer.

But the humbleness is noteworthy. According to him,

the connection between the psyche and disease is neither a new

discovery, nor is it Dr. Hamer's discovery. To quote Dr. Hamer:

" Through the millennia, humanity has more or less consciously known

that all diseases ultimately have a psychic origin and it became

a " scientific " asset firmly anchored in the inheritance of universal

knowledge; it is only modern medicine that has turned our animated

beings into a bag full of chemical formulas. "

An interesting theory, experimented on more than 25,000 patients and

their results can be read at:

It is rather unfortunate that just like Ayurveda, Baba Ramdev, Dr

Hamer is also being suppressed and harrased by modern science

propogators.

Brilliant article Sir !! I am sure all the members will have a new

perspective after reading your post. We have also mentioned in

ayurveda how faulty diagnostic tests force many people WITHOUT

CANCER to go in for chemotherapy and radiation. What a horror story !!

Jagannath.
