Guest guest
I started using essential oils for therapuetic purposes last November. Just fascinating! Since then I've become totally obsessed with natural health and healing. Nice to find a place where the company line isn't pushed. Look forward to reading the posts and forever learning. Guest guest
Hello, My name is Helen Humphriss and I live in North Hudson, Wisconsin. I am here because I want to learn some new ways of handling stress of everyday living and also at work. I am very new to all of this. So please be patient with me. I will probably be asking a lot of questions. I want to be able to relax and enjoy the world and life around me. I am tired of being an uptight -----. I want to be able to go through premanopause and menopause with as little emotional turmoil as possible. I want to be able to really enjoy things. I am really looking forward to learning all the things from here. Thank you again for allowing me to join this warm and cozy haven. Sincerely, Helen Hudson, Wisconsin. - <loricanida Monday, July 30, 2001 3:21 PM [AX] Hello - New to Group > Hello - I'm Lori. I live in the south-eastern corner of Colorado, > USA. Guest guest
Hi Helen I saw your post and just wanted to say that I am also premenopause and when I start to get those terrible hot flushes (which develop into a headache if left alone) I put one or two drops of Geranium e o on my shirt or pyjamas and it works like a bomb! It takes about 15 minutes to take effect but it really works. You must use the Geranium as soon as you feel the flush starting though. Geranium also helps when I am feeling particularly bent out of shape and not able to cope. Guest guest
I am working with " Sundown " . Where do I find Geranium e? I am not having the hot flashes yet. But I have my sleep patterns out of wack. How do I get into a set pattern of sleeping? It is hard and I work second shift at work and I get off of work at 10 pm and get home and don't get tired until 2 in the morning. I do get a good amount of sleep but there are nights where I can't go to sleep. How do I get some set patterns in my life. Thank you. Guest guest
Hi Helen Sorry! I meant to type " Geranium essential oil " not Geranium e. Not too sure about the sleep patterns but perhaps set a time when you want to go to bed, for example, midnight and then have a nice warm bath just before midnight with perhaps a few drops of Lavender or some other sedative type of oil in the bath, mix your essential oil with a bit of milk or vodka before putting in the bath this should prevent essential oil from clumping or gathering behind your knees in the bath. Try not to watch anything too stimulating on TV and dont eat just before bed. Perhaps you could listen to a relaxing audio tape like a meditation tape to relax you and deepen your breathing and hopefully you could drift off to sleep naturally. If you forego the Lavender oil in the bath you could use a drop or two of Frankincense on your pillow whilst you listen to the mediation tape in bed, this should both relax you and deepen your breathing. Good luck, I know it is miserable not to have a good nights sleep. In any case should you have a bad nights sleep put a few drops of Peppermint, Basil or Rosemary on a tissue and inhale on the way to work or before starting your day this should give you a bit of a pick me up and help you through the day. One last tip, alcohol and/or caffeine can play havoc with your sleeping pattern so keep them both to a minimum particularly just before bed. Guest guest
Valerian tea or capsules also help to get into a good sleep pattern. You must use them regularly for up to a month before you see results. Mandy
