HI

I'm another newcomer. My name is Bobbi, I'm from KS and Ive been lurking for

a week or so.

Ive been using essential oils about 3-4 years now. Couldn't live without

'em! We ( my family, 5 sons and one husband for a total of 6 boys) use them

in a variety of ways. I'll just mention a couple of favorites for now.

Pink grapefruit: I use it to brush my teeth-it freshens breath and

fights decay by killing harmful bacteria. It is also useful to put in dish

water-to help kill germs from food. It has a very pleasant fragrance that is

mildly stimulating unlike the regular grapefruit which is a bit acrid.

Peppermint oil: I put a little on a cotton ball and place it in the air

conditioning vent in my car. Very refreshing on hot muggy day! Place a

drop on your palm rub hands in a circular motion to release the oil, cup

your hands and breathe deeply at least three times exhaling slowly between

each breath. This works better than my decongestant when my hay fever flairs

up!

Ylang Ylang: Really sets the mood for love when I put a little on the

pillowcases, or a drop in the melted wax around the flame of a lit candle.

Clary Sage: My favorite for relaxation and meditation. I find it really

grounds me as well as relaxing me.

Lavender: My all around favorite- it just makes me feel good. I wear it

like a perfume! My signature scent! LOL. I use both the essential oil and I

grow lavender for fresh sachets to put in my bath or to enjoy as cut

flowers.

Rosemary: my husband's favorite. It is great for relieving headaches,

just tuck a sprig behind your ear. Doesn't work for every one but I find it

to be effective against tension head aches. Burned as an incense it is

reputed to be purifying and it is invigorating and just smells great!

Enough for now. I look forward to being a part of this list and learning

from the rest of you.

Bobbi

Hi Bobbi,

Im from FL and I am definately going to try that

peppermint oil trip in the car!! I have grapefruit oil

but have not seen it in pink.

In the AM i plug up the sink and fill with some ice

and water and a few drops of rosemary. I swear you

will look like you've up for hours!!!! Afterwards i

will sometimes just stick my whole head in to get my

hair wet, makes for shiny hair.
