Guest guest
Hi Linda Grapefruit is what they call a euphoric essential oil, in that it uplifts, lifts the spirits. It is thought that it stimulates the thalamus which then produces enkephalins which cheer us up (and are pain killers too). Bit like jogging. The other citrus oils are not known as euphorics, but sweet orange is very happy and cheerful. Other essential oils classified as euphorics are jasmine and clary sage. But then I guess that anything you really like might make you feel happy on a cold cloudy wintry wet day like this one. Probably better for you than coffee, but then I like that too. Guest guest
I'll tell you whats helps on a wintery blah overcast day...moving south! Thats what I did. I just made a concoction of grapefruit, rosemary and peppermint oil in a spray bottle of water I keep in the fridge, feels good to spray it on the face and body in the morning (wakes you up!) or at the end of the day.
