Guest guest
Dear Barbara, Try a mixture of 5 drops Juniper, 5 drops Grapefruit, 10 drops Lavender, 3 drops Rosemary, 2 drops Helichrysum, 3 drops Peppermint, and 1 drop of Roman Chamomile in 1 oz. of base carrier oil. This should help with the swollen joint as well as the pain. Also, look into taking Oatstraw tincture (15 drops x 3 times per day for 3 to 6 weeks. This should alsw redue swelling. Chickweed capsules (2 before bedtime) will help to redue swelling and purify the blood. I have personally used chickweed and oatstraw to get rid of carparal tunnel in both wrists. I hope that this helps you as well as others. Guest guest
There's always DMSO. I know of a number of athletic teams in the US who use it to speed healing of injuries. I've been using it on my arthritic mom and it helps tremendously. It's sold here as a solvent, approved by the FDA for intersistial cystitis (sp?), one of the few things that helps some people with scleroderma. Dr.Morton Walker wrote a book by that title--DMSO-- that's very comprehensive, lists lots of primary and secondary citations. The guy who's done the most research on it's medicinal use , Dr. Stanley jacob, is still researching applications and effects. Has a web page that's not very helpful. If you use it, take care what you use it with...It enters the bloodstream rather quickly and transports anything on the skin or mixed in with it...so if you wouldn't eat your hand lotion or soap, wash/rinse it off before applying DMSO. I've heard of no experiments using DMSO to carry essential oils past the dermal barrier. I'd have to be mighty sure of my oil and the effect I wanted to affect before I teamed any EO up with DMSO. For example, I love oregano oil and have sold quite a bit of it because I've found it effective for many things...but it stands on it's own well enough I'd have to feel like I was dying to add it to DMSO. I generally dilute my DMSO with Emu oil or Aloe Vera. BYW, some of the newer applications of DMSO lie in using it to carry antibiotics past the protective covering of drug-resistant bacteria. You can buy the book and the liquid on the net if your health food store--or horse linament shop--doesn't carry it.
