Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I'm new to this e-group. My name is Barbara Ferretti Matsuura. I'm from the USA, but have been living in Tokyo, Japan for 4 1/2 years now. I studied to become a Reiki Master here in Tokyo. I had wanted to study aromatherapy but the cost was very very high, so i bought some books and studied on my own,..the oils here are also very expensive since most of them are imported. Aromatherapy is becoming popular, though. I sent away for my oils to Aroma Theapeutix, located in Seal Beach, Ca. They were reliable: and sent the oils quickly and I think the quailty is very good. I appreciate their good service. Since I know some Shaitsu, (also self studied) and with the massage techniques I used when I was a ballet dancer, and the various techniques I learned in aromatherapy books, I can use the oils and the techniques confidently. I don't do this as a business, just for family and friends. I'm very happy to join this exchange. I don't know that I'll be on the chat as the time of day is 'upside down' between the USA and Japan. Possible I could get on on a Sat at your 11pm one. It will be my 12 noon. But if I can't make it, you know I'll be reading the letters everyday. Thanks for making this e-group exchange! best regards, Barbara

Guest guest
Hi everyone. I joined this list today. My name is Liz from RI and I am a licensed independent clinical social worker ( LICSW) and a level II Reiki practitioner. I share some of Theresa's feelings about practicing Reiki !! I feel self conscious about putting my hands on others. I too look forward to suggestions. I have been using aromatherapy with my sons (7and4) for about a month. The younger one is very active ( dare I use they word hyperactive) and I made up some massage oil using almond oil and the following essential oils : chamomile, rosemary, sage and lavender. We also spray his pillow and sheets each night with lavender scented water. It seems to be calming him down, even his babysitter noticed a difference. On another note, i could use some suggestions regarding my sister. She had surgery for nodules on her vocal chords and was recently told by a specialist that her vocal chords are not vibrating properly and she may have to give up her teaching career after 13 yrs. Any suggestions ( besides Reiki ?) Look forward to reading this exchange
Guest guest
Hi Theresa in Ohio, Barbara, here in tokyo. ... as long as you are clear with your 'intent' to channel the reiki energy, it comes through. some people don't feel anything, so people feel heat, some feel tingling sensations in their hands, etc. Each person is unique in the way they direct the 'reigi energy'. don't worry about if it's coming through or not. The very best thing is to try to keep your mind free of various thoughts and have the intent on sending the energy through, for the best benefit of the client, and it will work. you can always do some energy exercises to become more aware of the flow of the energy. it is there, so don't put any blocks on it. did you learn any exercises to become aware of the energy? It will give you more confidence if you learn to 'feel' it to 'recognize it'. There is a great internet sight that I love..here is the URL for it http://www.reiki.net/GRMA/ You can ask any questions and get lots of information too. Have a look when you have time and go through it all... don't be in a hurry....you need to practice and develop it slowly, at your own pace, but be assured that's it's there and that you really can't do anything 'the wrong way' with the reiki ...the energy does it..not you,...it's only the blockages that we put up that lessen the flow...you need to be an 'open bone' so to speak for the energy to travel through, the Reiki energy and the client do the healing.. best regards, Barbara, in tokyo, Japan Theresa Caetta wrote: > Barbara, > Hi! my name is Theresa, from Ohio.
