Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Since the subject of schools came up, I thought that we can talk about aromatherapy schools. Please tell us your own experience with the school that you went to. Please tell us: The School Name and Location If it is by Correspondence or In-Class How much it was? Phone number and/or URL Mississauga School of Aromatherapy Correspondence and In-Class Course in Toronto, Canada. Address in is our Links page. I took this course by correspondence over a year ago. The course was written by Martin Watt and teaches you over 50 different oils. It goes into a great deal about safety. It also has a practical part where I studied with a woman here in Montreal. The course was about $1000 CAD which is great for all you Americans. I enjoyed the course but I do not feel confidant enough to start practicing yet. I feel as though I would of benefited more from an in class-course and am looking forward to doing some more studying in the fall. Tracy LM Looking forward to hearing about other schools. Guest guest
I also took this course but inclass. It was a very enjoyable, informative and a thorough course. > Mississauga School of Aromatherapy > Correspondence and In-Class Course in Toronto, Canada. Lack of safety information is foremost the leading downside to learning in this way. To save anyone *lots* of money buying every little book on aromatherapy I do recommend the following texts: The Aromatherapy Practitioner Reference Manual by Sylla Sheppard-Hanger This 2 book set is for people who are *serious* about essential oils. It is not cheap( around $200 Canadian) but worth every penny!! I highly recommend this one. These are the manuals that the above mentioned school uses for the advanced aromatherapy course. Advanced Aromatherapy by Kurt Schnaubelt This book is for those wishing to learn about the chemistry end of essential oils. I probably have about 30+ books on aromatherapy, essential oils etc and the above 2 are the ones that are well used :-) HTH Susan --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
