Guest guest
Some considerations in the management of rheumatoid arthritis may involve reduction of inflammation and pain, prevention of deformity and preservation of joint function. The holisitc approach may also involve, diet, stress management, weight control, exercise should be undertaken gently, hot and cold compresses are usefull for muscle relaxant and analgesic effects Detoxifying with eo's such as juniper, cypress and fennel and lemon used in massage oils and baths. Analgesic and anti-inflammatory oils German chamomile, eucalyptus, ginger, nutmeg spanish or sweet marjoram and rosemary used in baths or local massage and/or compress on the affected joints. Local circulation can be stimulated with oils such as black pepper, ginger, nutmeg. Note it is recommended that when ever heat is applied to a painful stiff joint, it is very important to move the joint as much as possible immediately afterwards.Application of heat alone can cause congestion wich will make the condition worse rather than better, Avoid Fennel, Hyssop, Rosemary, Sage and Thyme with epilepsy.
