Guest guest
Hi all - especially all the newbies Yes, Kimberley, I have to agree with you about spikenard - it's one of my favourite eos too. Widely used in ayurvedic medicine (where it's known as jatamansi oil, from its Latin name). Brilliant for grounding as it's made from a root, and particularly good with rose absolute. Some of my clients don't like its humus/earthy/faecal smell. I bought some in Kathmandu when I was there two years ago, and where it is much cheaper than anywhere else, I guess because it's made there. I think it's good for dream bunnies because of its grounding nature, but also relates to the spiritual/eighth chakra, I like to think because of it growing in the high Himalayas. Interesting that it was so widely used in the old testament times (Song of Solomon is a good reference) - proves there must have been trade between India and the middle east. Fabulous stuff! Guest guest
Hi Amy- Isn't it funny how certain scents effect certain people? I can't tolerate the scent of Vetiver, it makes my stomach turn and makes my head hurt! I've also mixed Ylang-Ylang with Spikenard and Rose - but I know it's hard to work with an oil that isn't appealing to you. For the life of me I just can't work with Vetivert - when I've tried to, it makes me run screaming from the house! Aromatic regards, Kimberly

Spikenard is rare...but not THAt rare. and costly...but not nearly THAT costly. have they mentioned the size of the 'two small vials' yet? (I've picked up a LOT of spikenard sales this week Your source for superb Essential Oils, Aromatherapy Accessories, Information, Books and more!
