Guest guest
Dear Ron, In regard to your paper on " Toxicity Myths, " can you tell me where I can get a copy of it? I teach aromatherapy and I would like to add this information to my data base in teaching. Also, the reason why the books and many people lean toward not using essential oils in pregnancy is because we don't know what sensitivities the person may have and we do not wish to be responsible for a miscarriage if this happens. Ie, we could be sued for causing the client to miscarry, if they chose to do so. Also, there is still not enough information available to say that essential oils will not cause harm. Until enough studies are done and presented to the aromatherapy community, I would rather be safe than sorry when working with pregnant ladies. Each case needs to be looked at on an individual basis. What is safe for me might not be safe for someone else because I am used to working with eos while someone else might have not ever been around them. Guest guest
Actually, there are plenty of studies - certainly enough - to make a generalised statement about the safe use of EO's during pregnancy. By generalised, I mean for EVERYONE - without having to get down to a 'case-by-case' basis! And truly, the common 'precautions' are quite overexaggerated! Relative to my paper, yes, I would be happy to e-mail you a copy. I just ask that you first get back to me with a simple agreement that either you will offer the paper as a whole - with my details and copyright on it, or if you wish to use excerpts in your class notes that you ask for permission first and state the reference... I hope to hear from you. Guest guest
Dear Ron, Yes, I would definitely give you credit for your work because a person who puts time and effort into writing and researching a project deserves the credit. In one of my classes, I list over 75 different sources. Yours would be a nice addition. I do think that most people who ask for a copy of a paper are willing to give the source credit. I know that I want credit for what I've written and so far, the people that have asked to have portions of something that I have done have given me credit. Until I see your paper I don't know if I would need to use the entire paper or excerpts from it, and I think that this list is public enough to note such an agreement. I think that you are being overly protective for a paper that has not been seen in this setting by anyone. If you're really worried about everyone knowing that you wrote this paper, then why don't you post it for everyone to see and read? Then, everyone is happy. You will get the credit you deserve and you can be quoted without any problems. I know that I am always happy to read something new and innovative and to be able to quote that source because we have so few really good studies that can be backed up and quoted. Thank you for your answer. I do look forward to hearing from you again in this forum. Regards, Rhavda Emison >Relative to my paper, yes, I would be happy to e-mail you a copy.
