Your question of plant allergies is an interesting one (not a dumb one!). Yes, I would think that if you're allergic to a plant, you'd probably be allergic to the essential oil made from it. After all, we don't use wheatgerm oil on someone with candida or a wheat intolerance, nor peanut oil on someone with a nut allergy. Though these are vegetable oils rather than essential oils.
