Guest guest
What exactly is a Hydrosol? A hydrosol is the other product of distillation - the therapeutic water that collects when plants are steam-distilled to release their essential oil. The term hydrosol is a combination of hydro (water) and sol (solution) - a water solution that contains some micro-drops of essential oil as well as the water soluble plant components. These micro-drops of essential oil give the hydrosol its characteristic scent. The plant components give the hydrosol its herbal or floral therapy. A few ways to use hyrdrosols are: Freshen stale bed sheets - give them a quick spray Feel refreshed - spritz yourself - face, hair, body, and clothes Cool a hot flash Freshen the bathroom Spritz on hair and scrunch to refresh and scent hair Add to massage oils to heighten therapeutic value Add a cup to the bath for a soothing or refreshing reprieve Refresh the air during travel - spritz the car, hotel room, airplane Cleanse that recycled air Make your own wet wipes - spray on a tissue or damp cloth Place bowls of hydrosol with flowers floating in them in the centerpiece If you're interested in learning more about hydrosols, and would like a source for hydrosols that are made here in the United States, please email me privately.
