Guest guest
Hi All- According to Clean & Simple, The Old Farmers Almanac Home Library Series, Yankee Publishing 1999 the following natural products can be used to clean your home- Borax Baking Soda Cream of Tartar Lemon Juice Salt Vinegar (E.O.'s such as Lemon can always be added too.) Since I have two house dogs, I like to keep on hand a carpet deodorizer that I use everytime I vaccum. I never really measure this, and always make enough to keep on hand so I'll break it down as easily as I can! Take equal parts of Borax (sold where the laundry detergents are in your supermarket) and equal parts baking soda - add to that some of your favorite essential oil(s). (I like to use either Geranium or Lemon) Put in an airtight container, and shake well. Sprinkle on your carpet 1 hour before you vaccum, and save whatever is left over in the same airtight container. (The longer the product is kept in the container, the more aroma you will have.) The Borax will help to get rid of any fleas, and the baking soda helps getting rid of odor. If you have a really bad flea problem, sprinkle straight Borax on your carpet, (it dries the fleas up and kills them!) and leave over night before vaccuming up.
