Guest guest
Hi Paige You wrote: <I have an abcessed tooth and the dentist forgot to call my antiobotic in yesterday before she went on vacation....Is there something I can do or take eo wise??> You can use clove bud essential oil - a drop on a cotton bud held against the painful area - for pain relief, although it does contain a lot of eugenol and could irritate the tissue. BUT here is yet another good example of aromatherapy's limits. If you wish to keep your tooth, get another dentist to prescribe an antibiotic - fast. Guest guest
My first thought is arnica - a homeopathic rub. A friend of mine had good results on a broken leg with that. Aromatherapeutically, I leave that to the other gals on the list. Wishing you many good things --- Sherri
Guest guest
How about some of these ideas..... Broken Bones: 10 drops birch 3 drops helichrysum 2 drops lemongrass 3 drops pine 4 drops ginger Mix in teaspoon and apply a few drops to local area neat. Do a sensitivity test first, or be prepared to apply a carrier oil if burning starts. Oils applied neat are usually more effective. Bone Tissue Regeneration Recipe #1: 8 drops helichrysum 4 drops clove 2 drops lemongrass 12 drops birch 6 drops pine Mix in teaspoon. Recipe #2: 10 drops birch 8 drops marjoram 4 drops cypress 2 drops peppermint 1 drop basil Mix in 1/2 ounce of carrier oil. When selecting oils, particularly for injuries, think through the cause and type of injury and select oils for each segment. For instance, a broken bone could encompass muscle damage, nerve damage, ligament strain or tear, inflammation, infection, bone injury, fever on location, and possibly an emotion. So select an oils or oils for each perceived problem and apply in rotation or prepare a blend to cover all of them. The emotion may be shock, anger, guilt, or the person may have had pain for a long time and need to release or relieve it or need some joy in their lives, etc. Try to work through all the factors. Any time there is tissue damage, there is always inflammation which should be addressed first. Muscle & Bone Inflammation and Pain Relief: 12 drops fir 10 drops melaleuca 8 drops lavender 6 drops marjoram 3 drops blue chamomile 3 drops spearmint 2 drops peppermint Mix in 1 ounce carrier oil.
